A direction is put into words for people close by who ask for it, after a train of thought has long revisited the question. A flair for precedents and a push toward the unknown join in, without changing the order: first the request, then the answer.

An Ajna waiting to be defined

Gate 24, Rationalization, has as its harmonic gate Gate 61, Mystery, which sits in the Head. Together the two form the Channel of Awareness, from the Head to the Ajna. In a chart where it was the only channel, the person would be a Projector and would find their decision by talking: Human Design then speaks of Mental Authority.

As a Juxtaposition, the cross is described as a fixed fate.

A cliff no one was climbing

At the Annecy climbing club where he has climbed for fifteen years, no one had suggested to Jonas what ended up filling his fall. The aimless restlessness that had gripped him since September found its own hold: a forgotten cliff above a village, which he set about bolting route by route, on Saturdays, with the town’s agreement.

The question of supervising the children keeps coming back to him for weeks, while peeling vegetables, while coiling a rope. He says nothing as long as the board asks nothing; it is first with climbers he has known for years that he talks about it, after reading everything he could find on the subject. The day the president asks him, he has a proposal ready, and the board adopts only half of it.

A considered opinion

A group that asks for a direction receives an answer that has already been tested. Gate 31, Leading, puts it into words; the 24 has given it time to be worked through, each return to the question shifting it a little.

Gate 44, Alertness, adds the precedent recognized in the moment, whether it ended well or badly. A proposal can thus avoid a mistake already known, or take up an approach that had succeeded.

The voice of the most convinced person

The 31 can borrow the voice of the most convinced person in the meeting and repeat their direction as its own. That is the risk of an open Throat: the proposal seems clear, it simply has not been worked through by the person.

Pushed by Gate 41, Contraction, the person can also head far away from the group just when their words were being counted on. Jonas spends his Saturdays on his cliff, and the club’s children wait for a supervisor the proposal had planned for.

For you, for others

For you

Ask yourself whose argument it is that seems so obvious to you before proposing it: your own can be recognized by the time you have spent on it.

For others

It helps a friend with this cross to receive your question weeks before the deadline. He will come back with a precise proposal. You will remain free to follow it or not.

Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Influence

Is a slow direction better than a fast one?

Not in itself. What matters is that it has found its form: the 24 takes up the question again as long as that is not the case, and speed changes nothing. A fast answer that already has its form is worth just as much.

Do the experiences of the 41 change the directions proposed?

They feed them. The 41 pushes the person out of their habits, and what they bring back goes into what they propose afterward; the 41 does not choose the direction, it broadens what the 31 can point to.

What should you do when no one is asking for anything?

Keep the opinion for later. The direction of the 31 carries weight when a group asks for it; in the meantime, the 24 keeps working on it, and the proposal arrives riper on the day it is called for.

Why do the people close by hear the proposal before the group?

That is the trait of the 4/1 profile: line 1 wants solid foundations before speaking, line 4 circulates that knowledge first among those close by. The direction the 31 will give the group has passed through them.
