Pointing the way, an act of speech

In the Throat, what you carry inside becomes speech or action. Gate 31 holds a specific kind of speech there, the kind that tells a group where to go: an act carried out for the length of a decision, not a position one holds.

Without Gate 7, Role of the Self, this speech has no channel. When Gate 7 is present, from the G Center, the two form the Channel of the Alpha, 7-31: the way of guiding a collective that the system attributes to Gate 7 finds its words thanks to Gate 31.

The 13-33 channel also defines the Throat. In a chart reduced to that channel and Gate 31, the gate takes part in a defined Throat alongside a channel that is not its own; the person is then a Projector with Self-Projected Authority.

At the youth council, in the editorial meeting

At the town’s youth council, fourteen-year-old Kévin waits until the others have finished speaking. He sums up in two sentences what everyone wants and proposes an order for the projects. The council adopts it.

He is not trying to be in charge. In the weeks when no one asks his opinion, he keeps quiet; his ideas stay in his notebook.

In a newsroom, Laure is the journalist people turn to when the news is piling up: “Where do we start?” She answers in one sentence; the meeting organizes itself around it.

Both of them speak after being asked: their opinion carries all the more weight because people waited for it.

Putting a direction into words

A discussion that was going in circles gets moving again thanks to a clear sequence, a choice stated out loud: Gate 31 translates a direction into sentences a group can follow.

If the Throat is defined, this voice keeps a recognizable manner from one meeting to the next, and the group knows whom to turn to.

With Gate 7, what Gate 31 says is backed by a guiding role the group recognizes.

Leading without being asked

Taking charge of a team because no one else volunteered costs a great deal when the gut has given no response. If 34-57 is added to 7-31, the Sacral is defined and its response decides: the person who takes on the role without it wears themselves out to the point of frustration.

The silence of a meeting sometimes pushes people to lead without anyone asking. For a Projector, a suggestion made without an invitation falls flat; with an open Throat, the urge to speak also came from the room, and they leave the meeting feeling they talked too much.
