Leading without the G Center
The harmonic gate of Gate 31, Leading, is Gate 7, Role of the Self, in the G Center, a center the cross does not touch. With the 7 elsewhere, the 31 enters the Channel of the Alpha, which gives these words the backing of a guiding role; without it, the direction holds for a given decision, and the next one has to be asked for again.
The Left Angle, which the profile leads to, means a purpose that needs other people.
A broken-down salt spreader
Isaure leads one of the snow-clearing crews of a group of municipalities in the upper Doubs.
One Friday in February, a salt spreader breaks down in the middle of the first snowfall of the winter, and the crew meets to figure out how to warn the twelve town halls waiting for the trucks to come through.
The head of the department asks her what she would do. She remembers a former crew leader who, years earlier, had announced a delay while giving, in the same call, a firm time when the trucks would come through; almost no mayor had complained. She suggests doing the same. The calls go out that way.
The layout of the routes raises another question for her: fitting one more hamlet into the morning round without adding a truck. She keeps coming back to it without deciding for a month, at the wheel, between two loads of salt; each return moves an intersection, until she has a plan that fits on one page.
A direction that has ripened
A short sentence, spoken at the moment the group asks for it, can contain weeks of work. The 31 puts the direction into words.
Gate 24, Rationalization, took up the question well before. Its successive returns have given the final sentence a form that has already been tested.
In a new situation, Gate 44, Alertness, recognizes the detail that recalls a precedent, happy or not; the direction proposed takes it into account without having to justify itself.
Gate 41, Contraction, pushes toward the unknown from the Personality Earth. The route indicated is therefore not necessarily the one that carries on what already exists.
Deciding before the form is there
An answer demanded before the 24 has finished returning to the question comes out half-formed. The group follows it, then calls it into question, and the person has to defend as final what was only a stage along the way.
In an open Ajna, a colleague’s argument can be reworked as if it were one’s own. The direction proposed is then someone else’s, without anyone realizing it, the person included.

It prepares them. Thought returns to the question until a form appears; the 31 then states the direction in few words, when asked. The delay comes from the 24, the concision from the 31.
What is an alert from the 44 based on?
On a resemblance to a precedent, recognized before any reasoning. You still need to check that the two situations really overlap, not just on a single point; the same memory also serves to find what had worked.
Has a direction the group set aside failed?
It has done its part. The 31 proposes, the group decides whether it recognizes the route; a proposal voiced at the moment it was asked for does not need to be defended afterward.
