Kin 89: Red Spectral Moon
Dreamspell
89of 260
A Spectral Moon knows how to let go of an emotion that has run its course: in you, an old resentment can drain away all at once and leave the ground clear.
You may find yourself turning the page on a grudge that others would have nursed for years. An old sorrow, a stubborn jealousy, a family disappointment: at some point, the water recedes, and you catch yourself talking about the thing without anything welling up. This departure also lightens those who were bound to that emotion with you.
Yet a Moon’s water often ebbs without anything being over: it is simply low tide. Under the tone’s influence, you may read a passing ebb as an ending, and break a bond or abandon a project because the feeling withdrew one evening, when it would have come back with the next tide.
How can you tell low tide from water that has truly gone, when in the moment the two look exactly the same?
The guide of this Kin bears the same name as its seal: the Moon, whose strength is therefore doubled. So no one else decides for you what is over. But the doubled Moon has its own way of showing it: what is finished does not come back, even when the sea rises again, while what has merely withdrawn eventually returns. The ebb says nothing; it is the return, or its absence, that speaks.
