For the Resonant Serpent, the body acts as an antenna: it picks up the state of a place or a person before a single word is spoken.

You walk into a house and you know something is wrong. A colleague is hiding his fatigue, and it is your own back that stiffens. Your tone attunes your seal to others rather than to yourself alone, and what your body receives this way often gives you the right answer without your being able to explain where it comes from.

A Serpent, however, lets nothing pass without reacting. Whatever passes through your body, it treats as a personal matter. Someone’s fear becomes your vigilance, the anger in a room becomes your irritation, and you act on a tension that belonged to someone else. The body records, but it does not label where what it records comes from.
