What makes Serpent different from other seals?
The body knows first. Before Serpent has thought through a situation, something has already registered — a shift in someone's energy, a wrong note in what was said, a pull toward or away from something that hasn't been named yet. That physical intelligence is fast and accurate. The problem is that fear runs through the same nervous system and produces the same signal, and Serpent can't always tell which one is speaking.
What do most Serpent people get wrong about themselves?
They think they're reading the situation when they're sometimes reading their own nervous system. Serpent's instincts are real. But so is the wound around trust, and that wound has been running pattern recognition on possible betrayal for a long time. The two outputs feel identical.
