An exact figure, given to whoever asked for it: the advice is checked before it goes out. A riddle stays open alongside the measurements; order comes back after every change.
The Ajna, outside the cross
This cross, a Juxtaposition with a fixed fate, takes its name from Gate 62, Detail, where its Personality Sun sits.
Both Personality gates find their harmonic gate in the same place, the Ajna: Gate 17, Opinion, for the 62, and Gate 24, Rationalization, for the 61. Either one, elsewhere in the chart, would define the Ajna, with the Throat through the Channel of Acceptance, or with the Head through the Channel of Awareness.
The hundredth of a second
At the region’s track meets, the times shown on the board go first through Nathan, a volunteer timekeeper for fifteen years.
He gives the hundredth, never the rounded figure. Next to it, he notes the wind speed measured during the race.
One evening at a final, two sprinters cross the line together. The crowd saw the one in lane four win; Nathan stays in front of the photo finish until he can say which one crossed the line first. He announces lane five, with the margin, and nothing more.
At the refreshment stand, someone asks him who ran last year’s final best. He answers with the two times and the margin, without a word about the race.
A figure you can measure again
With the 62, everyone knows where the figure comes from and can redo the measurement without taking anyone’s word for it. A ranking based on a precisely named fact cannot be argued down by raising one’s voice.
On the Design side, Gate 3, Ordering, makes an upheaval livable once the gut has responded to the request; Gate 50, Values, rules out on the spot whatever would harm the group.
Gate 61, Mystery, leaves alongside the measurements a question that no figure closes. Accuracy and the riddle live side by side without one taking the other’s place.
The right figure, too late
A 4/1 makes sure of their foundations before speaking and shares what they know first among those close to them; combined with the accuracy of the 62, this demand can delay a result that others were waiting for in order to decide.
Accuracy also has its moment. A correct hundredth announced after the medal ceremony is no use to anyone anymore: precision matters when a decision depends on it.
A change of equipment can also push the 3 to sort out what no one has entrusted to it: the old records copied unasked into the new file over an entire weekend, without the gut having been consulted.
Without Gate 17, Opinion, the facts of the 62 arrive with no judgment to gather them together. Whoever was expecting an opinion on a race gets hundredths of a second, and leaves without knowing what to think of it.
For you, for others
For you
Give your figure at the moment it is useful, even if it is incomplete, saying what remains to be checked.
For others
If a friend you ask for advice has this cross, tell them your deadline: they will set the pace of their checking by it.
Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Detail
Why hold on to a question you will never solve?
Because the 61 does not ask for a solution. A question with no answer can fill the gaps in a day without demanding anything or getting in the way of the precise work being done alongside.
Does the 50 refuse everything new?
It judges the present situation and what it would do to the group. A tool ruled out today does not prevent another, proposed later, from getting an immediate yes.
Is a rounded figure wrong?
It is less verifiable. The 62 points to what can be checked; a rounded figure is enough for a conversation, not for a ranking.
Is the 3 still of use when nothing changes?
It waits. The Sacral does not start up without something to respond to, and a calm with no disorder calls for no sorting.
