The mood rises and falls without waiting for events, alongside a pull toward others that wants lasting bonds. The work gets done with attention resting on a single piece, and the know-how acquired passes to those who can use it.

Four gates side by side

No pair of the cross forms a channel. Two gates do sit in the Sacral, though, the 59 and the 9: the desire for connection and the narrowed focus draw on the same energy when a channel formed elsewhere in the chart defines this center.

Gate 55 and this cross bear the same name, Spirit. For the gate, the word refers to an overall mood, between melancholy and abundance, with nothing religious about it.

Here the profile leads to the Left Angle, which Human Design treats as transpersonal karma.

A tapestry on the loom

Muriel restores antique tapestries in a workshop above a print shop. Since February, a seventeenth-century verdure has taken up the whole loom: she is reworking the worn weft threads one by one. The weeks go by without her accepting any other commission.

One evening, a young restorer calls her, worried: a dye is bleeding while he washes a piece entrusted to him. Muriel tells him over the phone, step by step, what to stop, rinse and dry; the words come as he describes what he sees.

In the high weeks, she opens the workshop to students from the art school next door. In the low weeks, she closes the door and works alone, without the work suffering for it.

Knowledge held for a long time, passed on at the right moment

A long piece of work moves forward because the 9 does not let go of what the gut has accepted.

What is learned this way, over months, does not stay locked up. The 16 passes it on, in words or gestures, to the person who needs it, at the moment they need it.

The 59 looks for bonds that last, a shared workshop, a long-term collaboration. The high moments of the 55 add a generosity that spills over beyond the work.

The low taken for a verdict

A low can pass itself off as a verdict. In a low week, the verdure on the loom looks botched; the urge comes to undo weft threads reworked the day before; the following week, the same threads look right, although only the mood has changed.

The Sacral, when no channel defines it, lends the 9 the momentum of others. During the month before an exhibition, the attention holds at the pace of the whole team, with no signal marking when to stop; the fatigue comes afterward, and one night’s sleep does not wipe it away.

For you, for others

For you

Accept the pieces of work your gut has said yes to: your attention will stay on them by itself. Share your know-how when someone needs it, and let your mood run its course before going into partnership.

For others

To benefit from the know-how of a colleague who has the Cross of Spirit, ask her in person, when the question comes up. On a day when she closes her door, come back the next day.

Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Spirit

Does Gate 48 change anything for the 16?

Together with the 16, it would form the 16-48, known as the Channel of the Wavelength. The 48, in the Spleen Center, then points out at once the detail to rework, and what the 16 shows or says lands on the right point.

Is the pull of the 59 limited to couples?

It aims at any bond in which two people build together: a business partner, a shared workshop, a working friendship. Attraction is only one form of it.

Does the focus of the 9 apply to every task?

To the ones the gut has accepted. Faced with the rest, the attention scatters like anyone else’s.

Does a low mood prevent good work?

Not the work itself. The 55 changes the desire to have people over or to propose things, not the attention the 9 brings to an accepted task.
