What should be kept or set aside is decided in one go, before the arguments. When a change has moved everything around, putting things back in order follows, on request; and when the group no longer knows where to go, someone knows how to point out what comes next.
A push and a voice, each on its own side
Both on the Design side, Gate 41, Contraction, and Gate 31, Leading, each work on their own: the 41 pushes the body toward an experience, the 31 waits to be asked for a direction. With its harmonic gate, Gate 30, the 41 would form the Channel of Recognition toward the Solar Plexus; with Gate 7, the 31 would form the Channel of the Alpha.
The incomplete application
At the beekeepers’ association, a new member’s admission is voted on by the board. That spring, a young couple who had settled in the area six months earlier submit an application that is still incomplete. Victoire, the secretary, is in favor before the second page; the treasurer would like to wait until the fall. She has nothing but this agreement to set against his arguments, and the board ends up siding with her.
In May, a late frost destroys some of the colonies in the region; the board goes around in circles for a whole evening over how to share out the remaining swarms. When the president finally asks Victoire what she suggests, she answers in two sentences: first the apiaries that lost everything, then a drawing of lots. The board votes on the spot.
Keeping, then setting things right
In a group, Gate 50 says early on what will protect the whole and what will damage it, even when nobody follows at first. When a jolt comes anyway, Gate 3, Ordering, at the Personality Earth, offers a second phase: someone takes up, piece by piece, what has been disturbed.
On the Design side, the 31 puts a direction into words on the day the group asks for one; the 41, for its part, keeps the person moving toward experiences they do not know yet. These two traits live side by side, without one feeding the other.
Alone against the board
Associated with transpersonal karma, the Left Angle of this version is also associated with a purpose that no one with this angle achieves alone. Neither makes the group a judge: an agreement or a pulling back of the 50 keeps its value when the vote goes the other way.
Once the big cleanup is over, the tension of the 41 can push toward finding another project to put in order. Yet the 3 only puts back in order what a change has moved, and sorting invented to keep the body busy calms nothing.
The 31 does not check what it states. Proposed with confidence, a poorly chosen route is followed as easily as a good one; the voice does well to wait until the chart’s authority has spoken.
For you, for others
For you
When it is time to vote, express your agreement or your refusal, even without an argument: afterward, it will no longer carry weight. As for the direction to give next, let the group come and ask you for it.
For others
A board member with this cross may vote alone against everyone without being able to say why. Suggest talking about it again once the decision has had its effects. And when your group no longer knows what to do next, put the question to that board member openly.
Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Wishes
Is an agreement given before any analysis serious?
For Gate 50, yes: the Spleen Center judges the present situation without going through analysis. The file remains useful to check what the agreement perceived; it does not replace it.
Can the push of the 41 turn into speaking up?
The two gates stay separate: the 41 pushes the body toward an experience, the 31 points out a route to whoever asks for it. A sentence thrown out to get rid of a tension is not a direction: the group does not follow it.
Can the authority be splenic with this cross?
Only if a channel brought by the rest of the chart defines the Spleen Center, which the cross alone does not do, and neither the Solar Plexus nor the Sacral is defined.
How can you tell whether the group really expects a direction?
It asks for one: a direct question from someone in the group, at the moment the discussion is going around in circles. A direction offered to a room that was not looking for anything fades away.
