A desire drops while the project it launched carries on; the person concludes nothing that same evening. Their way of doing things, meanwhile, stays the same from the first day to the last, whoever is watching.
The wave and the G Center
The Personality Sun places this cross in the Solar Plexus, in Gate 36, where desire follows a wave. The low point it describes is no accident: the desire that drops is the very one that launched the project.
On the Design side, both gates sit in the G Center, far from the Solar Plexus. The 10 keeps the same behavior in front of any audience; the 15 welcomes other people’s rhythms without fixing its own.
Three meters of wool
On a Saturday when everything seemed possible, Josette promised her sister she would weave the living room rug for her new house: three meters long, in hand-dyed wool. For the first few weeks, she spends her evenings at the loom.
Somewhere in the second meter, the desire leaves. The wool is the same, the pattern too; she is the one who is no longer in it. She says nothing, keeps going at ten rows an evening, and does not yet ask herself whether she will finish.
A neighbor who also weaves advises her to switch to a faster loom; Josette thanks her and keeps her shuttle, her movements, her way of packing the weft. The rug reaches her sister two months late. Josette does not know whether she will weave another; what she does know is how many evenings a meter costs.
What a project costs, learned along the way
Seeing a project through its low point to the end teaches what it costs, on top of what it promised. For the next project, the person then knows what they are willing to put into it.
A recognizable pace goes with this knowledge: the 10 keeps the same way of doing things from start to finish, which makes the person predictable for those who work with them.
The 15 leaves others their own rhythm. The 6, at the Earth, measures out closeness according to mood, so that friendships born around a project have already weathered some friction.
Deciding on an evening without desire
The risk is stopping at the lowest point. Abandoning a piece of work on an evening without desire means letting the low point decide for the person.
For a chart with a defined Solar Plexus, Emotional Authority asks for time: a view has to hold from the top to the bottom of the wave.
The behavior of the 10 can put off those who want the same rules for everyone. Turning down a faster method looks like stubbornness as long as nobody knows why the person holds on to their own.
A 4/1 only speaks after digging into a question, and starts with the people close to them: those who share the project without belonging to that circle may be the last to learn about the low point.
For you, for others
For you
When desire fades in the middle of a project, decide nothing final until you have found the same view again across several moods. Keep your way of doing things, and explain why to those it surprises.
For others
If a friend with this cross shows you a way of doing things that seems slow to you, ask her why she holds on to it before suggesting another one.
Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Crisis
Does a fixed fate leave room for low points?
Juxtaposition is credited with a fixed fate, and the people who have it with a role as a bridge between the Right Angle and the Left Angle. Gate 36, for its part, keeps making desire rise and fall; the meaning of the angle does not touch the wave.
Does a crisis lived with this cross come from events?
Not in that sense. The low point comes from desire coming down while nothing moves around it; bad news can land the same month without the gate having anything to do with it.
What is the point of carrying on with a project when the desire has gone?
To see its other side. Dropped at the low point, it has only been looked at in the light of enthusiasm; continued until a stable view emerges, it also shows what it demands.
Is someone who is slow to bond distrustful?
Not with Gate 6: they draw closer at their own pace, as the mood allows, without suspecting anyone. The welcome can be warm and intimacy can wait.
