Defending a project in front of skeptics, stating your price without apologizing: making the case for what you bring does not require lying. You only need to know what you are worth, then dare to say it.

A name that alarms for no good reason

The name makes people flinch, yet the system is not talking about moral selfishness here. Gate 26 belongs to the Heart, where the system places willpower and personal worth. There it describes an ego attentive to its own value and able to show it, whether that means an idea to sell, a self-image to look after or a rate to hold.

Opposite it, in the Spleen Center, Gate 44, Alertness, recognizes patterns already seen. Together they form 26-44, the Channel of Surrender, where the talent for selling adjusts to what instinct has already recognized.

The quote, the rate, the stall

At the soccer club’s general meeting, Myriam presents the quote for the new jerseys that the treasurer thought too expensive. She does not hide the price; she shows what it pays for, samples in hand, and the vote passes.

Hervé, a photographer, sends out his rates without the apologetic line his peers add. When a client haggles, he offers fewer photos, never a lower price.

At a craft fair, a jewelry designer arranges her stall so that passersby stop. She takes care of her image as she does her merchandise, without seeing any vanity in it: one helps sell the other.

Giving a voice to value

A good idea poorly defended ends up at the back of a drawer. Carried by someone with Gate 26, it finds allies: the gate provides the means to defend a value, one’s own or a project’s. A defined Heart, whose willpower stays accessible from one day to the next, also gives weight to what it promises.

In the channel Gate 26 forms with Gate 44, persuasion relies on instinct: a proposal that recalls an old failure is set aside before it has been defended.

Selling more than you can deliver

Selling commits you. A person whose Heart is defined can promise more than their willpower supplies, to live up to the image they have given. Each promise draws on a reserve that refills every day but is not bottomless.

When the Heart is open, the talent of Gate 26 can be put in the service of a worth that has to be proven. Every presentation becomes an exam, every client won a proof to be renewed, and the person promises more to make up for the slightest failure.

A sales pitch written on an evening of enthusiasm can ring false on rereading three days later. For a person whose Solar Plexus is defined, a decision is made once the waves have settled; selling before then means giving your word on a conviction that is still taking shape.

For you, for others

For you

Hold your rate and defend your projects, but keep your talent for persuasion for what your Authority has approved. A promise made to protect your image can be renegotiated: saying so early costs less than keeping it while running on empty.

For others

Someone close to you who states their price straight out or praises their project does not necessarily have too much pride. Listen to what they are defending; when the promises pile up, ask them which ones they can keep.

Frequently asked questions about Gate 26: Egoist

With Gate 26, can you have Ego Authority?

Yes, when the Heart is defined by another channel and no center ranked above it is defined. A person whose chart brings together Gate 26 and 21-45 is an example: Gate 26 sits in a defined Heart, and this person, a Manifestor, decides through the Ego.

Does the Egoist think only of themselves?

The name refers to an ego that looks after its own worth, without the moral sense of the word. What it defends can serve others: a craftsman who holds his price keeps his workshop going, a representative who argues well serves the team.

What is the talent for selling worth without Gate 44?

It remains intact. Without Gate 44, Gate 26 is part of no channel and is not enough to define the Heart; its self-assurance does not depend on a definition. It only lacks the sorting done by instinct, which the Authority of the chart must then provide.

How do you tell self-assurance from bragging?

By what follows the words. Self-assurance announces what it can deliver and delivers it; bragging promises to impress and then has to find the willpower to follow through.
