A project everyone has been talking about for years and nobody gets off the ground: a first move is enough to bring it into existence. The urge to carry it one step higher follows close behind; a will that refusals revive takes over when the initial drive weakens. This first move belongs to Gate 53, at the Personality Sun.
A pressure with no one to pass it on to
Gate 53, Beginnings, sits in the Root, as does Gate 54, Ambition. Neither finds in the cross the gate with which it would form a channel: the first lacks Gate 42, Growth, with which it would make up the Channel of Maturation and define the Sacral; the second lacks Gate 32, Continuity, which would link it to the Spleen Center. No channel closes between the four gates: the pressure of the start finds no working energy in the cross to carry things further. Like every Right Angle cross, this one is described as a personal destiny.
The station waiting room
For ten years, a village in the Aveyron talked about reopening the waiting room of its old train station. There was an association, hand-drawn plans, a meeting every spring. Every spring, the decision was put off until the following year.
One Saturday in March, Zélia borrows the key from the town hall, sweeps up, sets out three tables and a coffee machine lent by her sister. She puts up a poster at the grocery store: “Café open Sunday.” Fifteen people come. The following Sunday, there are thirty, and the association finally holds its meeting in the room itself.
Bringing into existence what was waiting
Where a group circles around a project without daring to begin, a first move brings into existence what was only an idea. The 53 does not wait for the project to be perfect before opening it.
The 54, at the Personality Earth, gives this start an upward follow-through: once the place is open, the urge to take it one notch further comes along, with no need for an audience, measured against the position already won.
On the Design side, Gate 51, Shock, turns a refusal into a reason to start again; Gate 57, Intuitive Clarity, sets aside in a second the premises, the partner or the date that is not sound. Will and instinct thus frame two pushes that, on their own, would judge nothing.
Opening, then holding on alone
Opening costs this cross little; what follows the opening costs more. Without the working energy of a defined Sacral, a place launched with enthusiasm then rests on the goodwill of whoever drops by. The person who opened it ends up covering every shift.
The 51 readily turns a refusal into a challenge. A grant turned down becomes a matter of pride, and the project is relaunched to show it can be done, without consulting the chart’s authority.
With an open Root, other people’s pressure adds to the person’s own. The expectations of an entire village then weigh like a personal emergency; every idea in the neighborhood seems to need launching this week.
The pulling back of the 57 lasts a second. A meeting that drags on, a discussion where everyone insists, and it is drowned out before it has been heard.
For you, for others
For you
Make the first move others are waiting for, then look without delay for who will share what comes next with you.
For others
A neighbor with this cross has just opened a place the village was hoping for? Offer her a set hour in your week: a specific commitment helps her more than general enthusiasm. She will not ask you to stay forever.
Frequently asked questions about the Right Angle Cross of Penetration
Does the person who opens a place then have to keep it going alone?
Nothing requires it, and the cross does not help with it: none of its gates provides the working energy of the Sacral. Handing over, or sharing the shifts from the start, lets the place last without wearing out the one who opened it.
Is opening without seeing it through a flaw?
That is the role of the 53, which takes care of the start. How long a project lasts depends on other gates, other people and what the chart’s authority decides; a successful start does not have to be judged on what comes after.
Which of the four gates decides?
None. Two of them push, one revives the will, the last one warns; the decision falls to the chart’s center of authority, which may be somewhere other than in the cross.
Where does the urge to aim higher after each success come from?
From the 54, which pushes to climb one notch above the position held. It sets no summit: the open café becomes the first step, without the next one being named in advance.
