A piece of work is recognized before anyone reads the signature, but the person who made it cannot always say how. The Design brings them a mind that looks for the right formula and principles they state for those close to them, without the way of doing things depending on them.
Two gates in the G Center, no channel
This cross is a Juxtaposition, the angle of fixed fate, and its two Personality gates, the 1 and the 2, both sit in the G Center without completing each other. Their harmonic gates are elsewhere. With Gate 8, Contribution, in the Throat, the 1 would form the Channel of Inspiration: the person’s way of doing things would circulate without them trying to convince anyone. With Gate 14, Power Skills, in the Sacral, the 2 would enter the Channel of the Beat, and the working energy would line up behind its direction as soon as the gut had responded.
Cut-out letters
No poster at the theater in Chalon has carried a signature for twelve seasons. Audiences still recognize Bérengère’s by their letters cut out of colored paper and glued slightly askew.
Last year, the season program printed a sentence of hers about her approach: letters that lean, because a poster is not a road sign. Subscribers quote it. Since then, when a letter falls straight, she peels it off to set it askew again, and she likes those posters less than the others.
A mark, then words
Gate 1 makes the person recognizable by what they do, without introduction or signature. The cross and this gate share the same name.
The 2, at the Personality Earth, adds a direction that objections do not shift, even when the person does not yet know where it leads.
The formula of the 4 and the principles of the 49 draw from this something to say to others. Those who work or live with the person know what they expect of them. They can describe the person’s way of doing things to a third party without entirely betraying it.
A tense rule, an unrequested formula
An open Solar Plexus lets the tension of a room pass into the principles of the 49. They harden to the rhythm of a tense meeting; the rule that comes out of it says more about the mood of the room than about the person’s conviction.
The 4 sometimes finds the sentence before anyone has asked the question. Delivered unasked, the formula describing the person’s way of doing things lands like a lesson; in a Projector’s chart, it falls flat for lack of an invitation, even when it is right.
For you, for others
For you
When someone asks about your way of doing things, answer with an example first, and only then with words; if the formula no longer resembles the gesture, keep the gesture and look for another formula.
For others
You recognize the work of a friend with this cross without having seen her signature: tell her so, naming the detail. Rules she announces on a tired evening are best revisited with her when things are calm, before you comply with them or challenge them.
Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Self-Expression
What do people notice first in someone with this cross?
Their way of doing things. Gate 1 makes people identify a person by their objects or gestures before they introduce themselves; the formulas and rules come later, when they explain or organize.
Can the person say how they do it?
Not always, because the way of doing things and the explanation come from two different gates. The 1, in the G Center, provides the mark; the 4, in the Ajna, then looks for words to describe it, and those words can miss what makes it recognizable.
Can Gate 4 be wrong about the way of doing things it describes?
Yes. A formula can be clear and false. The one describing the way of the 1 is tested against the gesture: if the person, reading it back, does not recognize themselves in it, it needs reworking.
Does Gate 49 make someone strict?
Not in itself: it sets reference points for a circle of close people. The strictness comes from a rule announced at the bottom of the wave, which a calmer day softens or withdraws.
