A present detail suddenly brings back a past affair, happy or not. This instinct serves a group looking for its direction, and the mind then goes back over it until it draws reference points from it.

What the angle changes

The Left Angle Cross of Incarnation brings together the same four gates; it belongs to a transpersonal karma. This one, in the Juxtaposition, follows a fixed fate and serves as a bridge between the Right Angle and the Left Angle.

Gate 44 is not a constant mistrust: its signal is triggered only in front of a pattern already encountered, then falls silent.

The first hot day

Cyril has worked at his town’s wastewater treatment plant for fifteen years. One April morning, the first real heat arrives with an east wind; he suddenly recognizes the spring when the smell had spread across the whole neighborhood.

The new team leader has never consulted him; Cyril notes the date of the east wind in the plant’s logbook and says nothing about it. Three weeks later, the first complaints come in. The team leader opens the logbook, then comes to ask him what had been done that year.

Reference points for a group

Gate 44 connects what is happening to an old affair, whether it turned out well or badly, faster than any deliberate comparison.

Gate 24, from the Earth, then goes back over these connections until it draws lasting reference points from them.

Gate 7, the Role of the Self, provides a group to follow these reference points, as soon as the group recognizes the person.

Gate 13, the Listener, leads others to confide in the person what they are going through.

A role that becomes a burden

A 4/1 builds lasting bonds, and that loyalty can hold them back. The role of reference point that a group has given them then becomes a burden they no longer dare to leave.

A story confided to them can wrongly serve as a precedent. Someone else’s story, heard once, becomes a reference point applied to a situation the person has not been through.

The group sometimes expects an immediate opinion on everything. The 44 speaks only in front of a known pattern; on everything else, the 24 needs time, and an opinion improvised to keep up the role has neither the value of an alert nor that of a form that has matured.

The role of Gate 7 can also silence the 44. So as not to worry the group that follows them, the person keeps to themselves a hesitation they should have voiced.

For you, for others

For you

Among your precedents, tell apart those that were confirmed and those that turned out to be misleading: the latter deserve as much attention as the former.

For others

When someone close to you has this cross and holds you back from a project without being able to say why, give them an hour to find the precedent before you decide.

Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Alertness

Does a situation without precedent leave the person helpless?

It leaves the 44 with nothing to grab onto, and the signal does not come. The 24, at the Earth, then takes over, more slowly: a form is sought where no memory offers itself.

Does being a group’s point of reference commit you for a long time?

For as long as the group recognizes the person, no longer: Gate 7 describes a granted place that nothing obliges them to keep. Leaving it takes nothing away from the 44, whose instinct goes on serving elsewhere.

How can you tell an accurate precedent from an old fear?

By looking for what is similar beyond the detail that awakened the memory. The Spleen Center is associated with survival fears: awakened by a detail, one of them can take on the look of a precedent.

Do the alerts of the 44 become rules?

Taken up by the 24, they can. A rule drawn from a single case deserves to be reviewed when the situation that gave rise to it has changed.
