Over the following weeks, he comes back to it while walking his dog, until he draws a method from it for the major work ahead. At the annual meeting, the board asks him to present it; it is voted through.
A precedent the group hears
Gate 44, Alertness, recognizes what has already gone wrong, or ended well, before any deliberate comparison. On the Design side, Gate 7, the Role of the Self, places the person where a group is looking for its direction: the recollection does not stay private, it steers a shared decision.
By returning to them again and again, the 24, at the Earth, turns a series of recollections into a method.
Gate 13, the Listener, brings the person stories the group does not lay out at meetings; the direction suggested takes into account those who do not speak up.
