A working strength available every morning does not, by itself, say what it will be used for. What directs it is a request from outside and the links it finds elsewhere in the chart.
One strength, three outlets
The Sacral supplies a strength that lasts, provided something comes along to call on it. Gate 34, Power, gives it its raw form: a strength that is available, with no object set in advance. How it is used depends on the partner that joins it.
It has three; only these three share with it the distinction of belonging to three channels. Intuitive Clarity, Gate 57 in the Spleen Center, forms 34-57 with it, the Channel of Power: strength follows the alert of the moment. With Behavior of the Self, Gate 10 in the G Center, the Channel of Exploration (10-34) puts it in the service of a way of being. The Channel of Charisma, which Gate 34 forms with Gate 20, The Now, leads the Sacral straight to the Throat.
Two partners together also form a channel between themselves. With Gates 10 and 20, or with Gates 20 and 57, the chart has three channels, with 10-20 added in the first case and 20-57 in the second: Gate 20 then opens a path to the Throat for the strength. With Gates 10 and 57 together, 10-34, 34-57 and 10-57 do not lead there.
All four gates together form six channels, one for each pair. The Sacral reaches the Throat there. If the Solar Plexus is not defined, it is still the Sacral’s response that decides.
A strength waiting for its question
A shared woodworking shop, on a Monday morning. Bérénice, a cabinetmaker, sands and assembles until evening without noticing the time when the job has made her respond. A client describes her grandmother’s desk that needs restoring: Bérénice straightens up before she has said a word.
Fabien, at the next workbench, has the same gate, which in his chart forms 20-34. Asked for a quote, he names a price and a date in the same sentence, without having opened his order book.
In the evening, Bérénice is tired, with the kind of tiredness sleep takes care of. The next day, the strength has come back; she knows what to give it to.
Staying power
Power refers to a strength that goes the distance. Given to whatever made the gut say yes, it works for a long time without wearing out and comes back the next day.
Depending on the partner, it traces a personal path with Gate 10, moves into speech or action with Gate 20, follows instinct with Gate 57. Work chosen this way leaves satisfaction, the Signature of the two Types with a defined Sacral.
Strength without a response
The Sacral lends its strength even to what did not make it respond. A Generator who out of duty accepts one more job then has to keep pushing themselves hour after hour, all the way to frustration, their Not-Self Theme.
Fabien has a different pitfall. With 20-34, a price thrown out on the phone commits him before his gut has responded. Keeping these promises made on impulse leads him to frustration, the Not-Self Theme of the Manifesting Generator, then to the anger that often piles on top of it.
A person who rarely says no quickly becomes the one everything gets handed to. People stop asking and simply announce the task; the Sacral commits to it without having responded.
With a defined Solar Plexus, the strength is ready before the decision. Committing in the heat of the moment ties Power to a project the next mood would not have chosen.
For you, for others
For you
Before accepting a task, have someone ask you a question that calls for yes or no, and trust your body’s first movement more than the arguments. Your strength wears down less when it goes to what made it respond.
For others
To get help from someone with this gate, ask them a real, closed question, and accept a no without arguing. Announcing a task to them as a given deprives them of their response.
Frequently asked questions about Gate 34: Power
Without its three partners, does Gate 34 lose its strength?
No. On its own, it completes no channel and leaves the job of defining the Sacral to others. If none of them does, the strength its name refers to comes from the people around, which an open Sacral picks up and amplifies.
Is the strength of Gate 34 limitless?
No. This strength waits for a prompt from elsewhere to set it going. Committed without a response, it runs out like any other.
What does the name Power refer to?
To the strength the system places in the Sacral, the strength to work and to last. 34-57 bears the same name, but the gate also belongs to two other channels.
What does a Sacral response look like?
A brief sound, a sigh, a torso that leans forward or pulls back, always before thinking. What the head produces by weighing the pros and cons is no longer the gut’s response.
