The person’s discoveries pass from hand to hand among people they know, carried by a know-how built without haste. The desire to do things with someone comes along with it, together with a mood that comes and goes without asking their opinion.
The desire to build, step by step
On the Design side, Gate 59, Sexuality, finds its harmonic gate in the Solar Plexus: Gate 6, Friction. This is the center of the 55. The Channel of Intimacy forms in a chart that also contains the 6; the Sacral and the Solar Plexus are then defined, and the desire to build with another person moves forward in stages, at the pace of the mood.
Gate 8, Contribution, has the same name as this cross, a Juxtaposition associated with a fixed fate. A 4/1 studies a question before talking about it, and talks about it first with those closest to them.
The panel in the old schoolhouse
In the hamlet, the old schoolhouse serves as the community hall: people vote there, celebrate birthdays there, store the folding tables there. In spring, the fuses blow every time someone plugs in the kettle.
At the residents’ meeting, someone asks who could take a look at the wiring. Nestor, a retired electrician, lets a silence pass, then says he is willing, on condition that the neighbors’ son, just out of an apprenticeship, works with him.
They redo the electrical panel over three Saturdays. Above each breaker, Nestor sticks a handwritten label: “kitchen,” “stage,” “kettle, never with the oven.”
Three years later, the neighbors’ son redoes the panel of the next village’s community hall on his own. Above each breaker, he sticks a handwritten label.
What passes from one person to the next
A place, a group or a family ends up running on what the person has put into it. Gate 8, Contribution, puts this offering into circulation; Gate 14, Power Skills, grounds it in gestures learned by doing them again and again.
Gate 59, Sexuality, adds the desire to build with one other person or with several, and the strength of the Sacral makes what was chosen together last.
In its periods of abundance, Gate 55, Spirit, gives without counting: projects, invitations, a helping hand.
When the mood decides instead
When defined, the Solar Plexus of the 55 makes mood a matter of decision: the authority is emotional, and a proposal accepted in a burst of enthusiasm needs to be reviewed once the mood has come back down.
The 14 has its own pitfall. The one who can fix anything soon receives every breakdown in the neighborhood, and their strength ends up going to tasks they never agreed to.
For you, for others
For you
The people around you already benefit from what you develop; you do not have to widen that circle for it to count. Before taking on a project with someone else, look at it again at another point in your mood.
For others
When a neighbor with this cross lends you his tools or his method, return them and tell him what was useful. His absences for no reason call for no explanation. He will come back with another proposal.
Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Contribution
What becomes of the contribution when the mood is low?
It remains available. What the 8 has set up goes on serving without its author; the 55 changes the desire to offer, not the value of what has been offered.
Where do the 14 and the 59 draw their strength from?
From the Sacral, where the two gates sit without joining. One gives that strength to work, the other to bonds; when the center is defined, it comes back every day on both sides.
Which gate pushes this person to do things with others?
The 59, on the Design side: it pushes toward building with others. A shared project finds in it what it needs to last, if the gut has responded to the project itself.
Does a contribution have to be requested to be useful?
It is more useful when it is. Brought to someone who is looking for it, it gets taken up; pushed toward someone who was not asking, it gets lost. With an open Throat, the risk is contributing in order to be noticed.
