Building with someone comes first; a partnership is born here slowly, out of years of friendship. A mood comes and goes alongside, without taking anything away from the attention each piece of work demands.
The Channel of Intimacy, outside the cross
The four gates form no channel among themselves. With Gate 6, Friction, present elsewhere in the chart, the 59 would form the Channel of Intimacy, which defines the Sacral and the Solar Plexus: the pull toward others would then have a steady force, and the approach to others would be set to the rhythm of the wave.
A cracked cello
A cello arrives at the workshop with a crack running the full length of its top. Ruben, a luthier, sets aside the bows waiting their turn and does nothing else for four days, until the glue holds.
He opened this workshop with Oriane, a former classmate from the conservatory, after ten years of friendship and two years of discussions. The idea of working together had come early; the signing, much later.
Some mornings, he arrives cheerful without knowing why; on others, he works without a word. Oriane no longer asks him what is going on.
Knowledge shared between partners
A friendship can become a shared workshop: the 59 seeks to build with someone; what it builds is meant to last.
Through to the end of a chosen piece of work, the 9 holds the attention; the 16 then makes this knowledge transmissible, to a partner, an apprentice, a client who can use it.
The high moments of the 55 add a mood that overflows: an invitation extended to everyone, an impromptu concert between two repairs.
An opinion kept close
A 4/1 waits for solid foundations before speaking and first circulates their knowledge among those close to them: to a musician he does not know, Ruben recommends no wood at all, so the musician leaves with nothing.
When the Solar Plexus is defined by another channel, a partnership decided on a cheerful morning commits the person before the mood has come full circle. Oriane has learned to wait for the second conversation.
The 9 holds only one task at a time. Two urgent orders arriving on the same day leave one of the two waiting, and the customer who is waiting does not know why.

All four; they differ by angle: the Crosses of Spirit are Left Angle, to which Human Design attributes transpersonal karma; the Cross of Strategy is a Juxtaposition, described as a fixed fate.
With Gate 55, does character change?
Only the mood changes: the 55 swings between melancholy and abundance without events having anything to do with it. The bonds and the work remain the ones the person chose.
Why do partnerships take time with this cross?
The 59 looks for a solid bond; the mood of the 55 shows the same project in a different light from one week to the next. Seeing it through several moods tells you what holds up.
Does Gate 9 get lost in details?
It describes something else: attention resting on a single task, accepted by the gut, that holds through to the end. A detail only absorbs it if it is part of that task.
