What gets started has what it takes to last: the drive of beginnings meets, on the Design side, a working energy that sees it through to the end; the urge to climb passes through an instinctive sorting of what can continue. Each of the two pairs of gates closes into a channel.
Two channels, three centers
The two Root gates each find their harmonic gate on the Design side. Gate 53, Beginnings, joins Gate 42, Growth, in the Channel of Maturation; Gate 54, Ambition, joins Gate 32, Continuity, in the Channel of Transformation. A chart with only these two channels would belong to a Generator; the authority, sacral, would become emotional as soon as the Solar Plexus was defined elsewhere, for example by the Channel of Synthesis, which links it to the Root.
The Left Angle, for its part, implies transpersonal karma. The two channels, however, work the same way whatever the angle.
Six weeks on the racks
In a small soap workshop run by three partners, a batch can only be sold after six weeks of curing. Tess is the one who launches the recipes: a goat milk soap one year, a shaving bar the next.
Last year’s honey recipe took four attempts. Tess followed each batch all the way to the sale, turned the bars on the racks, waited for the lather to hold, without the wait ever seeming long to her.
When it comes time to order new molds, she keeps the house’s oldest recipe, which customers find old-fashioned. She has no argument backed by figures, only the certainty, at the moment the question comes up, that this one has to stay.
This year, the soaps are also sold in the grocery stores of three neighboring villages. Tess had proposed the step; the other two partners made the rounds of the shopkeepers.
From the first attempt to the last batch
A cycle opened here has what it takes to run its course, if it has been accepted. The 53 launches, and the 42 accompanies each stage for as long as the gut keeps saying yes; satisfaction comes with the last batch, not before.
Ambition passes through a sorting. The 54 would like the next step, and the 32 checks in the moment that it can hold without endangering what already exists. An old, sound product line stays in place when a shiny novelty is set aside.
The recipe launched for nothing
The Sacral responds; it does not initiate. A recipe started because the Root was demanding something new had no request to respond to. The 42 then finds itself committed to a cycle the gut did not choose: six weeks of curing carried like a chore.
The 42 can also expand beyond what had been accepted. A thousand bars promised because the buyer insists, when the gut had accepted two hundred, turn a season that was growing into a season that exhausts.
If Tess’s chart has a defined Solar Plexus, a recipe accepted in the enthusiasm of a trade fair can turn out, a week later, to be a yes from the crest of the wave. The decision then does well to wait until the mood has settled.
For you, for others
For you
Launch a recipe when someone asks you for it, not when pressure is demanding something new. See it through as long as your gut supports it, and let instinct say, when the time comes, whether it continues.
For others
With a business partner who has this cross, commit for an entire cycle: leaving in the middle of the curing weighs more heavily than a refusal on the first day.
Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Cycles
Can a season in progress be stopped?
Yes, if the response of the gut has died out. The strength to finish follows that response; without it, finishing means forcing yourself, and an ending announced early gives others time to organize.
Does the ambition of the 54 risk sweeping away what already exists?
The channel it forms with the 32 submits it to a sorting: a step that would endanger the whole makes itself known as soon as it comes up, before ambition has adopted it.
What sets an accepted cycle apart from an endured one?
The way it ends. A cycle opened on a response from the gut ends in satisfaction; a cycle launched by the pressure of the Root alone ends, when it ends, in frustration.
When does the 32 step in?
Every time the question of what comes next arises: a recipe to renew, a supplier to keep, a step to climb. Its signal holds for that moment; the same question, asked on another day, calls for another signal.
