A shared anger becomes a meeting, then a demand defended without concessions. The wave that carries this mobilization also has its lows, which the cause has to learn to get through.

A desire one gate away from speech

Gate 36, Crisis, has its harmonic gate in the Throat: Gate 35, Change. Brought together in a chart, the 35 and the 36 make up the Channel of Transitoriness, which runs from the Solar Plexus to the Throat, the Throat of Gate 45, the Gatherer: desire then passes straight to speech and action; a mobilization can set off at the crest of the wave.

The 7:12 train

Every morning, Boris takes the 7:12 regional train to Périgueux. When the region announces it will be cut at the start of the school year, standing on the platform, he suggests to people he has passed for years without ever speaking to them that they meet that very evening at the café across the street.

Thirty of them come. When the region offers a replacement bus, Boris has the group vote against it: a bus is not worth a train, and he says it again at every meeting until the start of the school year. The train stays, moved by ten minutes, which nobody had asked for.

From anger to cause

An anger scattered across a platform becomes a common demand when someone puts it into words. The 45 at the Personality Sun formulates this demand; Gate 26, the Egoist, at the Earth, gives it the weight of a value that is not sold off cheap. The Left Angle, the angle of this cross, is described as transpersonal karma, lived through encounters with others.

The 36, on the Design side, knows the low that follows the surge. A group that has gone through a winter of discouragement without disbanding then chooses its battles knowing what they cost.

Gate 6, Friction, protects the group from one-night commitments: those who come back after two heated meetings hold up better than those who get fired up at the first café.

The demand made on an angry evening

The wave decides poorly at its extremes. One evening, after one delay too many, Boris proposes in front of the whole platform that they block the tracks; the next day, he looks for a way to take back what he said.

In the low, the temptation reverses: disbanding the group in November, when nobody feels like meeting anymore, means deciding at the bottom after promising at the top.

The 6 can turn against the group. Keeping at a distance the commuter who questions the method deprives the group of someone who would have strengthened it.

Finally, the 26 at the Earth can harden the demand beyond what the group can sustain. Demanding everything, with no concessions, when half the platform would settle for a schedule, drives away those who wanted a compromise.

For you, for others

For you

Let a night go by before proposing an action to the group you have brought together. And when the urge to fight subsides, wait for it to come back before disbanding anything.

For others

A fellow commuter with this cross wants to know who is behind them: answer their call, even with a no, then tell them your reservations to their face, without waiting for the next meeting.

Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Confrontation

Does gathering the discontented amount to seeking conflict?

The 45 brings people together around what a group shares; the 6 slows down a coming together without aiming for a dispute. A meeting of commuters can be heated without either gate having sought it.

Does the discouragement of the one leading the group spread to the others?

It can spread to those whose Solar Plexus is open: this center picks up the emotional climate of those around it and amplifies it. The 36 describes one person’s low; when that person is the group’s voice, others may take that low for their own, without the cause having changed.

Where does the firmness of Gate 26 end?

Where the promise goes beyond what willpower can keep. Defending a demand without concessions belongs to the 26; demanding of others a commitment you would not keep yourself no longer does.

How do you recognize the low of the 36 in a collective struggle?

By a surge that subsides even though nothing has changed in the cause: the case is the same, the supporters too, and the will to fight is missing for a while. This low passes no judgment on the struggle.
