The urge to try something else is voiced before there is a plan; saying it is enough to set it in motion. Each trial leads to the next, provided it has held up against the facts and found its place in days that keep their schedule.
A voice without a motor of its own
Gate 35, Change, sits in the Throat, the center that makes audible or visible what was still held inside. Its harmonic gate is Gate 36, Crisis, which sits in the Solar Plexus, where desire arises: when the chart brings the two together, the Channel of Transitoriness carries the urge into speech and then into action, and the decision follows the emotional wave. Within the cross itself, no channel connects a motor to the Throat. The Channel of Rhythm, which the 5 forms with Gate 15, Extremes, runs from the Sacral to the G Center, far from speech. Placed in the Right Angle by its profile, the cross carries a personal destiny.
Fridays at the cannery
Anatole runs a canning line at a sardine cannery. At the morning briefing, he throws out the idea of trying to steam part of the fillets. Nobody had asked for it; the words are out, and the quality manager wants to know when they start.
The trial takes place on a Friday, the only day the line runs more slowly. The cans are tasted, compared, sent to the lab: they hold up. Three months later, another Friday is used to try a different oil, then a third to change the order of the workstations.
The other days of the week have not moved: fish delivery on Monday, cleaning the cookers on Thursday. The trials slip into this framework without disturbing it.
One trial after another
An urge that stays silent turns into daydreaming; spoken aloud, it starts to move. The 5, at the Earth, gives each trial a recurring slot, so that the next experience finds its place without upsetting everything.
The two Head gates, on the Design side, sort through what remains. The 63 lets last what has withstood scrutiny; the 64 holds on to what each trial left behind, even a failed one, until the day another gives it meaning.
Announcing in the heat of the moment
An idea thrown out in a burst of euphoria binds the person before the mood comes back down. When the chart also contains Gate 36, the authority becomes emotional: the trial proposed on the evening of a production record is best taken up again in a calmer state, a few days later.
The 63 can then hold back what the 35 set in motion. Anatole wanted to repeat the steam test on three batches, then on a fourth; meanwhile, the sardine season came to an end.
The 64 can also keep a failed trial in mind for too long. Every new project is then judged against an old failure whose meaning has not yet come.
In a Projector’s chart, an idea for a trial put forward when nobody asked for it is met with indifference, and bitterness follows; the same idea, awaited by someone, would have found a taker.
For you, for others
For you
Voice your urges to try things as soon as they come, making clear that they are trials. Set aside a moment in the week for each one, when it can happen without disturbing the rest.
For others
A colleague with this cross puts ideas forward the way you would propose a trial: answer with a date, not a verdict.
Frequently asked questions about the Right Angle Cross of Consciousness
Can you love novelty and keep a well-ordered week?
Yes: this cross brings exactly those two together. The 35 proposes the trial, the 5 finds it a recurring slot; a change that fits into the week costs less than one that turns it upside down.
Is a failed trial wasted time?
Not for the 64, on the Design side. It keeps what the trial left behind without drawing conclusions, and another trial, later, may give it meaning. Nothing sets the date.
Why do the people around take these ideas for promises?
Because the Throat makes them audible before they have been decided. “We could try” announces a possibility; the choice then belongs to the chart’s authority.
How many trials does it take before changing for good?
No number applies. A trial that holds up under scrutiny and that the gut takes up again may be enough; a trial carried out without an inner response proves nothing, even when repeated.
