Defending a project in front of those who doubt it, then rallying them to it: the confidence is there from the start. Time then gets involved, with a distance that adjusts slowly and a drive that drops before coming back.
The Heart and the Throat, one gate apart
Gate 26, the Egoist, in the Heart, and Gate 45, The Gatherer, in the Throat, share no channel. Yet a single gate is enough to join their two centers: the 21, Hunter/Huntress, the 45’s harmonic gate, sits in the Heart; the Channel of Money they form then places available willpower behind the voice that rallies.
In the Solar Plexus sit Gate 6, Friction, and Gate 36, Crisis, both on the Design side, which do not connect either. This center is defined only if the 59 joins the 6, if the 35 joins the 36, or if another channel ends there; when open, it lets the surrounding mood set distance and lows in place of the person’s own.
One counter for three trades
In a small town in the Cantal, Ernestine’s shoe repair shop sees fewer shoes come through each year. She goes to see the alterations seamstress and the appliance repairman on the next street with a proposal that fits on one page: a single shop window, a single counter, three trades behind it.
The seamstress would like to pool everything from the first week, the till, the keys, Sunday lunches. Ernestine accepts the window and keeps her till separate. It takes a year for the question to come up again; it is then settled in ten minutes.
The shared counter opens in March. None of the three could have paid the rent for a shop window on the square alone.
Allies around a value
A well-defended project attracts allies no one would have brought together otherwise. The 26 knows how to say what an idea is worth without inflating it; the 45, at the Earth, gives these allies a common place to meet.
The 6, in the Design, slows down alliances that form too fast. A partnership that has survived some friction no longer rests on the enthusiasm of the first day.
The 36 brings experiences that continue after the desire that launched them has subsided. A project that has come through that moment without being abandoned no longer has to prove that it holds.
Defending before the wave has turned
The confidence of the 26 can serve an idea born in a rush. Launched on an evening of enthusiasm, the idea of a second counter in the neighboring town is defended so well that the bank goes along; when the desire subsides, Ernestine finds herself with a lease and without the desire that signed it.
The friction of the 6 can also aim at the wrong target. Friction that came from a Tuesday mood is read as a fundamental disagreement; an ally is kept at a distance because of a day when nothing was going right.
For you, for others
For you
Defend your projects with the confidence that is yours. Sign only what you would still want to sign a month later, once your desire has gone full circle. And give your partners time to come closer: friction in the first weeks says nothing about what follows.
For others
Your business partner has this cross and keeps her distance one day: do not draw any conclusion about your alliance. At the low point of a project, help her wait for the desire to return before selling everything.
Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Confrontation
Does the value the 26 defends need to be recognized by others?
Not for it to be real: the 26 knows what a project is worth without waiting for approval. The Left Angle describes something else: a purpose that needs other people. It is the purpose that goes through other people, not the value.
Does the friction of Gate 6 get in the way of a shared project?
It acts as a filter. The 45 calls others in, the 6 measures out each person’s approach: some of the allies may keep their distance for a while without the project failing.
What is a conviction defended on an evening of high spirits worth?
It has not yet met its low. The Design’s 36 takes projects through that moment; those that come out intact are then defended with arguments that enthusiasm alone did not provide.
Is convincing people enough to bring partners together?
Not always. The 26 secures agreement on what a project is worth; the 45 also gives those convinced a place, a date or a task that brings them together. A convinced partner may stay home as long as nothing tells them where to meet.
