The flaw in an organization is spotted at a glance; the reasoning that makes it possible to show it comes afterward, step by step. The person who points it out does so in their own way, without adjusting it to what the audience would like to hear.

Three centers side by side

The 10 and the 15 sit in the G Center; on the Design side, the 18 judges in the Spleen Center and the 17 reasons in the Ajna. None of these gates forms a channel with another: each of the three centers waits, in order to be defined, for a harmonic gate present elsewhere in the chart. With Gate 62, Detail, added on its own, the Channel of Acceptance (17-62) would form; the chart completed this way would belong to a Projector with Mental Authority.

The Left Angle of this version is described as transpersonal karma.

The timer in stairwell B

Edith is the caretaker of a forty-unit building. At the March condo board meeting, the agenda calls for repainting the lobby; she asks for the floor to talk about something else: the light timer in stairwell B, which switches off before the residents of the fifth floor have reached their landing.

She found out the first evening she walked a resident up to the fifth floor. One owner is doubtful; so she lays out in front of him what she knows: how long the timer runs, the time it takes an elderly person to climb one floor, the number of residents who never take the elevator. Each point leads to the next; the skeptic ends up doing the math with her.

The board president had offered to present the matter in her place, thinking it would go over better coming from him. She thanked him and presented it herself, in her own words. The lobby will wait a year.

Retracing the path of the finding

A flaw pointed out by this person arrives with its path. The 18 immediately names the spot where something catches; the 17 then arranges the observations into steps that others can check one by one. A disagreement then bears on a specific point, and the finding does not have to be accepted or rejected as a whole.

The 10, at the Personality Sun, gives the person a voice of their own: the finding is stated the way the person talks, without dressing it up to please. The 15, at the Earth, keeps the attention on the object; the way of life of the people who use it is not in question.

A disputed step

A conclusion of the 17 can be debated step by step; a way of being, for the 10, is not negotiable. Mixing the two turns every objection into an attack: disputing a figure then amounts, in the person’s eyes, to disputing who they are, and the debate shuts down where it could have moved forward.

Seeing the flaw does not tell you when to bring it up. For a Projector, the remark does better to wait until someone asks for their view; offered without an invitation, an accurate observation falls flat, and bitterness follows.

For you, for others

For you

Say first where the flaw you have seen lies, and save the demonstration for whoever asks you for it.

For others

A coworker with this cross accepts having her findings discussed step by step, as long as her way of being is left out of the debate.

Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Prevention

Do the 17 and the 18 say the same thing?

They look at the same situation by two routes. The 18 judges in the moment, without giving its reasons; from the Ajna, the 17 builds its own reasons step by step. The second can lend words to the first, provided it does not replace it.

Does being true to yourself prevent you from accepting a correction?

Not when the correction concerns the facts. The 10 bristles at a request to change its way of being; a badly set timer, on the other hand, gets corrected without debate.

What does the 18 lose when the 58 is missing from the chart?

The support of the Root, not the speed of spotting. Without the Channel of Judgment (18-58), the spot that catches is seen just as early; the pressure that pushes the repair through to the end has to come from elsewhere in the chart.

Does letting someone else present its finding bother the 10?

It does: a finding taken up by someone else, in different words, is no longer quite its own. Having its steps discussed does not bother it; it prefers to state them itself.
