A direction takes shape with no argument to back it up, and the work force falls in line with it as soon as the gut has responded. The people around the person see the route taken long before they understand why.
A direction and a work force
In the G Center, Gate 2, The Direction of the Self, gives a direction that needs no logical proof. At the other end, in the Sacral, Gate 14, Power Skills, belongs to the motor of the work force.
The channel touches the Sacral, so the chart that contains it belongs to one of the two Types with a defined Sacral, Generator or Manifesting Generator, never to another. The Throat decides between the two. The 2-14 doesn’t reach it and, on its own, makes a Generator. If a 13-33 or a 7-31 also connects the G Center to the Throat, the Sacral’s power gets there by passing through the G Center: the calculation then gives a Manifesting Generator.
For Authority, everything hinges on the Solar Plexus. As long as it stays undefined, the Sacral decides. The 2-14 together with the 6-59, on the other hand, gives a Generator with Emotional Authority.
Only the circuit group is confirmed: Individual, which also includes the 10-34, another channel between the G Center and the Sacral.
A direction that needs no reasons
A friend suggests restoring an old sailboat together. The answer comes from the gut, a short, rising sound, before any question about cost or time. Three years later, the boat is in the water. At the start, nobody could have said why this project rather than another.
The direction comes from Gate 2, the power from Gate 14. As long as the two go together, the person works for a long time without wondering whether they’re right: the Sacral has responded, the direction holds. Other people’s doubts slide off it for as long as the gut hasn’t let go.
The Generator’s Strategy, waiting for something to respond to, applies here to direction itself. A course chosen by reasoning, because it looks sensible, doesn’t have the gut behind it. The work force then only half follows.
Staying the course
Once committed on the strength of a Sacral response, the person brings to a project an endurance that goes the distance. While the sailboat was being restored, two neighbors who dropped by to see the progress ended up coming back every Saturday.
Gate 14 is called Power Skills. Put to work for a direction the gut has chosen, this skill shows in the work accomplished, whatever the field.
At the end of the road comes satisfaction, the Generator’s Signature: having done, for a long time, what the whole body was leaning toward.
The direction that’s easiest to defend
Without a response from the Sacral, the direction becomes one idea among others. The person imposes a course on themselves by calculation or to please someone, tries to put in a power that isn’t there, and frustration, the Generator’s warning signal, sets in.
The people around them weigh in too. A parent or a business partner demands reasons; after having to justify, again and again, a direction that Gate 2 holds without logic, the person ends up choosing the one that’s easiest to explain. The direction that’s easiest to defend isn’t necessarily theirs.

Asking this person “why?” pushes them to justify themselves. Closed questions, which their gut can answer with a yes or a no, will tell you more about the course they’re holding. If they change direction, ask them what their gut responded to.

Can the direction held by this channel change?
Yes. It holds as long as the Sacral responds to it. A route the gut no longer says yes to loses the backing of the work force; a new response can then open another one, without any need to explain it.
Is the Beat only about work?
No. The work force here means the energy of the Sacral, which provides staying power in any undertaking. Gate 2 holds a direction, whether it’s a career or a move to a new home; Gate 14 provides what it takes to follow it.
Do you need to know your destination to have this channel?
No. Gate 2 gives a direction without providing the route: the course is discovered along the way, one Sacral response after another.
Does the 2-14 guarantee Sacral Authority?
It makes it possible without imposing it. It holds as long as the Solar Plexus is undefined; a single channel that defines it, such as the 39-55, switches it to Emotional.
