The framework of a choice comes first for the Self-Existing Human: options, rules, consequences, in black and white, before any commitment.

Moving to a new city, signing a contract, going back to school: you don’t launch into these on a hunch. You draw up columns, you set criteria, you find out how things really work. Once this framework is in place, your decision is firm, and you don’t go back on it at the first doubt.
