Understanding its own effect is a need for the Self-Existing Wizard: it only trusts its enchantment after grasping its form.

Where other Wizards let themselves be carried along, you observe. What is it, in the way you walk into a place, that changes the atmosphere? How much comes from you, how much from other people’s expectations? You like to define, to measure, to put exact words to what seems elusive, and this rigor makes your gift more reliable than it is in many people. But what a Wizard produces does not lend itself well to being boxed into a definition. The more you try to pin down your effect, the more it slips away from you, and you may end up distrusting it to the point of no longer daring to use it. The framework your tone calls for then becomes a wall between you and your own receptivity.

The White Dog that guides you is nothing like a theorist. It loves loyally and serves without setting conditions. It brings your Kin a form you can recognize: that of a faithful relationship. Rather than defining your effect in general, define toward whom you want to exercise it, and on what terms you put it at their service. A commitment to real people gives firmer edges than a theory.

Who deserves your enchantment, and what do you owe them in return? By answering, your Kin finds the framework it needs, without smothering what it was trying to frame.
