The bets instinct lets through come with care given when the gut responds. What these games bring, success or failure, ripens for a long time before it is told; the need they leave behind is then named plainly.
Two tempos in one cross
Gate 28, the Game Player, and Gate 33, Privacy, do not share the same tempo. One belongs to the Spleen Center, turned toward the moment; the other to the Throat, where it keeps what has been lived until it can be told. The same cross therefore decides quickly and tells late.
According to Human Design, the Left Angle is transpersonal karma: its people live it through their encounters with others.
The first novel and the cluttered hallway
Hippolyte runs a small publishing house in Nantes. He published a first novel that six of his peers had turned down, after a single reading: nothing in him had pulled back. The book sold poorly.
When his proofreader falls ill during production, Hippolyte proofreads the galleys himself in the evenings and drops off groceries for him on Saturdays, because he felt like it from the first phone call.
The following winter, unsold copies take over the hallway of the apartment he uses as an office. He then asks the city, floor plan in hand, for twenty square meters of storage in the old municipal warehouse, with access on Saturdays; he gets them in the spring.
Bets that leave a story behind
Games played without a guarantee leave behind an experience, successful or not, that this cross knows how to make something of. The Game Player accepts the stake; Gate 27, Caring, at the Personality Earth, looks after those who play it with the person, and the person as well.
The 33 lets what the game brought settle until the story comes out clear. Gate 19, Wanting, points to the need that follows, clearly enough for a partner or someone close to respond to it.
A story told while still raw
An open Throat puts pressure on the 33. At the book fair, among publishers comparing their setbacks, a story that is still raw comes out too soon, and regret lingers on the train home.
The care of the 27 can extend to an entire team, to the point of taking the place of the bets. Serving others spares the person from choosing a game of their own; yet the gut and instinct do not answer the same questions.
A new bet made to silence the pressure of the 19 was not chosen by instinct. It covers up a need that has not been named; the pressure comes back from another direction.
For you, for others
For you
Play the games your instinct lets through, even without a guarantee. Their story can wait; voice the need they leave behind without delay.
For others
When a business partner has this cross, you will sometimes fail to understand his bets in the moment. After a failure, ask him what he needs before asking him to tell the story.
Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Alignment
Why tell the story of a failure months later?
Because the 33 waits for the experience to ripen before telling it. Told in the heat of the moment, a failure comes out in pieces; once it has settled, it becomes a clear story that others can use.
Who receives the care of the 27 in this version?
No one in particular: Gate 27 does not designate a recipient. Those who play the game with the person benefit from it, as does the person; resting after a failed bet is part of it.
Does the Game Player choose games lightly?
He chooses them quickly, which is not the same thing. The Spleen Center judges in the moment, for survival; the Game Player bets on what this filter has let through; lightness would begin if the stake bypassed it.
Why is the need voiced faster than the story?
They do not depend on the same gates. The 33 waits until the experience is ready to be told; the 19 receives the pressure of the Root, which stays urgent as long as the need has not been put into words.
