Kin 33: Red Resonant Skywalker

Dreamspell

33of 260

Seal 13: Skywalker red
Tone 7: Resonant
Wavespell: 7 of 13; Blue Hand wavespell, Kin 27 to 39

Seal 13, tone 7: one square out of 260

The Resonant Skywalker chooses a road by listening: you go where something calls you, rarely where a plan sends you.

Your exploration begins with attunement. A place, a book, a conversation rings true, and your feet follow. What you bring back from these journeys does not look like a constructed theory. It is more like what a musician takes away from a hall where they have played: a different way of hearing.

But the Resonant’s listening needs silence, and the Skywalker loves movement. By constantly changing scenery, you multiply the sounds to pick up, until you can no longer tell a real call from a simple taste for elsewhere. Leaving then becomes one more noise, and the attunement gets lost in the distance covered.

The Red Serpent, your guide, brings this listening back into the body. Where the Skywalker hears with the mind and looks into the distance, the Serpent feels: a tension in the gut, a physical surge, a tiredness that says no. It gives your Kin an instrument more reliable than enthusiasm, because the body does not get carried away by a horizon; it reacts to what is there. An urge to leave that finds no echo in the body may not be a call.

One question remains, specific to this Kin. Among your departures, which ones answered something you had truly heard, and which ones served to avoid hearing what was being said where you were?

The oracle of Kin 33

Five seals make up the oracle: the Kin’s own seal at the center, and four others around it. At tone 7, the guide is the Red Serpent, Kin 85.

The guide changes with the tone; the Analog, the Antipode and the Occult belong to the seal.

The guide, the Red Serpent: At tone 7, the guide is 12 seals ahead, in the same color, and keeps the same tone: it is the Red Serpent, Kin 85.
The Analog, the White World-Bridger: The World-Bridger understands the passages the Skywalker goes through: it gives the Skywalker a mirror to recognize where it stands in its cycles of transformation.
The Antipode, the Blue Night: The Night holds deep dreams and the patience of silence; it reminds the Skywalker that some things grow in the dark and that constant exploration is no substitute for gestation.
The Occult (hidden power), the Yellow Star: Beneath the Skywalker’s restlessness, the Star keeps a vision of beauty and of the right form: deep down, that is what steers its explorations, even when it doesn’t yet know where it is going.
