A blocked project waits without revolt; the momentum stays whole. The day a game presents itself, instinct decides quickly, sometimes for an option no one would have chosen in the person’s place; concrete acts of care and stories follow.
Playing and caring, on the Design side
On the Design side are Gate 28, the Game Player, and Gate 27, Caring: one judges by instinct whether a game is worth playing, the other gives care when the body responds to a request. Neither meets its harmonic gate in the cross: the 28 lacks the 38, the 27 lacks the 50.
The Left Angle is transpersonal karma. The person’s purpose, in this angle, also requires the presence of others.
The van in the yard
An old delivery van, bought for next to nothing, has been waiting in Daphné’s yard since the fall. She wanted to turn it into a mobile computer repair workshop for villages without a shop; the approval of the conversion still has not come through. In the meantime, she does repairs in her kitchen.
In February, a nonprofit offers her a fixed spot, two days a week, in a former classroom. The space is cold and hard to get to. Daphné recoils sharply and refuses, without being able to explain why to the nonprofit, which insists.
An elderly neighbor asks her whether she could look at his computer, which no longer turns on. She spends an hour at his place on Sunday. The following Sunday, tired, she tells him it will have to wait, and he does not make a fuss about it.
Waiting, then betting right
A project on hold keeps all its momentum: Gate 60, Acceptance, at the Personality Sun, lets the wait go by without the pressure of the Root being spent on pointless steps.
When a game presents itself, the 28 judges it in the moment, without calculating the odds: accept what has passed this filter, set the rest aside without justification.
The 27 keeps care on a human scale, an hour at a neighbor’s, a favor done on request, and it counts the person themselves among those it looks after.
At the Personality Earth, Gate 56, Stimulation, then turns the wait, the bet and the people helped along the way into a story, for whoever asks.
When waiting becomes a shelter
Waiting can serve as a shelter: as long as nothing is approved, no bet is required. An approval received and left aside shows that the pause has stopped being real.
When the chart’s Sacral is defined, the Game Player’s flair informs without deciding. A game it approves of, but to which the gut has not responded, commits the person without their energy.
Lulls also leave room for helping. A favor promised because the calendar is empty, with no response from the body, turns into a debt the day the project starts up again.
For you, for others
For you
Do not prepare, during the wait, your answer to the game that will come. It will be judged the day it presents itself. Your instinct speaks at that moment, not before.
For others
For a sister born with this cross, the day before a decision is not the time to share your worries: with an open Spleen Center, she may take them for her own. If her bet goes wrong afterward, do not ask her to justify it.
Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Distraction
Is welcoming a halt the same as declining a game?
The two gestures differ. The 60 welcomes a halt imposed from outside; the 28 responds to a game that is offered. One lets time pass, the other commits the person all at once, for or against.
Does the care of Gate 27 have limits?
Those of the body. Help given after a response from the gut renews itself; help promised out of duty wears thin. The 50, which would give this care a safeguard, is not in the cross: the limit is read case by case.
Does the acceptance of the 60 help you hold on during a difficult game?
The gate speaks of a halt to be welcomed, not of troubles to be endured. To hold on during the game, it is Gate 38, the Fighter, that would bring the pressure of the Root, if it is in the chart: with the 28, it forms the Channel of Struggle.
Does the story necessarily come after the fact?
Yes: Gate 56 tells what has been lived, and you first have to wait, then place the bet. A story launched before the end does not yet have a punch line.
