A real limit is respected without bitterness; the momentum stays whole behind it. When it lifts, what follows is played by instinct, given as concrete acts of care and ends up as a story.

A possible channel with Gate 38

Gate 28, the Game Player, on the Design side, has as its harmonic gate Gate 38, the Fighter, which is absent from the cross. If the chart also has the 38, the two form the Channel of Struggle, between the Root and the Spleen Center, and the game chosen by instinct finds what it needs to hold through to the end. With this channel alone, the Type would be Projector and the authority splenic.

Thirty draft mares

A draft horse breeder, whom she knows only by name, asks Flavie, a farrier, to take over the care of his thirty mares. It is far from her usual rounds; the animals have a bad reputation. She accepts during the conversation, on an impression she cannot explain.

On her first visit, the breeder’s daughter, alone to tend an injured mare, asks her to stay and hold the lead rope while she dresses the wound. Flavie stays. She comes back the next day with a salve.

At the forge festival, in August, customers she has been shoeing for ten years ask her what the mares are like. She tells them about the injured mare, the lead rope held by headlamp and the breeder who talked only to his horses.

A reserve that outlasts the seasons

A blocked period does not cost the momentum: Gate 60, Acceptance, at the Personality Sun, keeps the pressure of the Root in reserve until movement becomes possible again. Gate 56, Stimulation, at the Personality Earth, then turns the episodes lived through into stories that regulars listen to year after year.

The 28, at the Design Sun, recognizes from the outset the game worth playing, even when nothing guarantees it. Gate 27, Caring, adds care given on a response from the gut: a lead rope held, a salve brought over, and also a refusal when the body asks for rest.

A limit you imagine

Not every limit calls for the same patience. A closed road is one; the refusal you attribute in advance to someone, without having asked them, is not: accepting it amounts to forbidding yourself.

A game accepted out of loyalty, so as not to disappoint a longtime customer, has not received the Game Player’s yes: what it would have signaled was not listened to.

After so many evenings of storytelling, the story can also freeze those close to the person into the role of an audience. They end up knowing the person only through their adventures; the person no longer dares show up with nothing to tell.

Finally, care sometimes gets confused with duty. Carrying a burden because no one else will take it on, with no response from the gut, costs dearly the next day.

For you, for others

For you

During a blocked season, do not sign up for the first career change that comes along. When a game is offered to you, your body’s immediate response is enough.

For others

With a friend whose chart contains this cross, respect the periods of halt without pushing them to change course: their patience is nothing like giving up. Like any 4/1, they speak after studying the question, starting with those close to them.

Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Limitation

Are the two Left Angle Crosses of Limitation versions of this one?

They share its name and two gates, the 56 and the 60, but not the other two. Their angle also differs: the Left Angle, theirs, is tied to transpersonal karma. Here, the angle is the Juxtaposition, to which a fixed fate belongs, and those who have it serve as a bridge between the Right Angle and the Left Angle.

Who spots danger in this cross?

Gate 28, the Game Player, which says from the Spleen Center whether a game is worth it. Gate 60 spots nothing: it lets the halt pass without withdrawing the momentum.

Do those close to the person benefit from this cross?

They receive concrete care, given on a response from the gut, then the story of the waits and the games played. These stories come back to the same ears from one year to the next.

Can a limit exist only in your head?

Yes, and that can be checked. A closed road, a refusal actually spoken, exist; a prohibition no one has stated exists only in your head. Gate 60 welcomes the former without struggle; the latter calls not for patience, but for a question to be asked.
