A project opened because someone asked for it, then carried through to the end without perseverance being a strain: what the Root launches, the gut sustains. The climbs come in stages, each one screened by an instinct that judges in the moment what can last.
The Sacral responds to starts
Gate 53, Beginnings, forms with its harmonic gate, Gate 42, Growth, the Channel of Maturation, which links the Root to the Sacral. The defined Sacral starts nothing on its own: it waits for something to respond to; what it accepts receives what it needs to grow.
From the same Root to the Spleen Center, Gate 54, Ambition, forms the Channel of Transformation with Gate 32, Continuity. The urge to climb passes through instinct there before being attempted.
One might think that a chart so rich in starts begins everything that comes along. It is the opposite: the Root proposes, the gut responds. Only what has received a response then has the strength of the 42 at its disposal. For this Juxtaposition, the path is said to be a fixed fate.
The orchestra in the covered playground
Thaïs teaches piano at a neighborhood music school. In September, the director asks her to put together a student orchestra, something nobody at the school has attempted in fifteen years. She answers a week later, after listening to two classes: yes.
The first Saturday, there are seven of them, two violins, a flute and four pianists taking turns at the keyboard. Thaïs writes the arrangements herself, tailored to each player, and reworks them every week as they progress.
The June concert takes place in the covered playground. The following year, the orchestra has twelve musicians; Thaïs still rewrites every part to fit them.
What holds from start to finish
An orchestra, a workshop, a season: what this cross opens at someone’s request has what it takes to last from start to finish, because the 42 accompanies the start of the 53 all the way to maturity.
The climb happens in stages that instinct has let through. The 54 looks for the next step; the 32 makes sure, as soon as a step comes up, that it does not threaten what exists.
Held back by what is over
Every new school year awakens the urge to open something else. A second ensemble launched while the first is still growing draws on the same reserve: neither moves forward at the pace it would have had alone.
A 4/1 wants solid foundations before stepping forward, and stays attached for a long time to the people they know: this loyalty can keep alive a cycle that is already over, because those taking part in it are attached to it.
If a channel formed outside the cross links a motor to the Throat, the chart becomes that of a Manifesting Generator: it is then best to announce an ensemble opened on a response from the gut to colleagues before the first Saturday, otherwise it runs into their resistance.
The instinct of the 32 can also decide in place of the gut. A project set aside on a pulling back, without the question having been put to the Sacral, leaves aside what the body would gladly have carried.

Can a request to begin be turned down?
Yes: a request gives the Sacral something to respond to; a no is one response. The rank of the person asking, director or student, makes no difference; only a yes gives the cycle the strength of the 42.
What is a pulling back of instinct worth when everyone insists?
What it is worth for the moment in which it occurs. The 32 judges the present state of a situation; other people’s insistence does not change it, and a yes extracted through arguments puts an opinion in place of the signal.
