A discussion that is getting bogged down finds a common object again as soon as someone names it; the one who names it also knows how to defend what it is worth. Hospitality and understanding follow, each at its own pace.
Two motors beside the Throat
Two motors appear in this cross: the Heart, center of Gate 26, the Egoist, then the Solar Plexus of Gate 22, Openness. None of the four gates connects them to the Throat, where Gate 45, the Gatherer, speaks.
A Heart gate would make that link: the 21, the Hunter/Huntress, harmonic gate of the 45. Together they make up the Channel of Money, which puts willpower behind speech. If this channel were the only one in the chart, it would be the chart of a Manifestor, with Ego Authority.
Without the 21, no motor reaches the Throat by way of the 45. Another path remains possible for this cross: Gate 12, Caution, joined to the 22 on the Design side, would form the Channel of Openness and connect the Solar Plexus to the Throat.
The yard sale tables
The association that had organized the yard sale on a street in Dijon for twenty years is dissolving. The closing meeting gets bogged down: who keeps the forty folding tables, the marquee, the refreshment stand’s cash box? Colombe, who moved onto the street three years earlier, listens for an hour without saying a word.
Then she suggests that everything go to the neighborhood school, which will lend the equipment to any resident who simply asks. The room votes by a show of hands, without a single vote against.
The principal still has to be convinced, since she is afraid of being saddled with it. Colombe tells her what this equipment is worth and what it will bring to life on the street, better than a locked storeroom; the principal signs the agreement the following month.
A common object, named in time
A group arguing over what it owns comes together again when someone names what it has in common. At the Personality Sun, the 45 finds that sentence; the 26, at the Earth, backs it up when it is challenged, saying what the proposal is worth without watering it down to please.
The 22 and Gate 47, Realization, work more slowly, from the Design. The first opens the house when the desire to host is there; the second eventually understands what years of meetings have taught.
Speaking for the whole street
A rallying voice can start speaking for everyone. After the vote, Colombe answers the town hall on behalf of the street, then the local paper, without anyone having asked her to; the neighbors find out from the paper what they are supposed to think.
The momentum of a lively meeting outlasts the meeting when the Solar Plexus is open. The next day, alone at home, the person no longer understands why she agreed to organize a concert in the courtyard.
The 26 adds its own pitfall: confidently backing a project the person has not yet tested, then drawing others into a commitment she herself will not keep.
The group that has been brought together sometimes expects the one who brought it together to also manage what it pools, the cash box, the equipment, the keys. Without the 21 in the chart, nothing drives her to: better to say so right away than to wear herself out at it.
For you, for others
For you
Name what brings others together when the discussion gets bogged down; keep quiet when it moves forward without you. To launch a proposal, choose a day when hosting gives you pleasure.
For others
Take seriously the solution a neighbor with this cross suggests in the middle of an argument, even if it comes from the newest arrival. Also tell her what you do not intend to hand over to her: the cash box, the keys, what comes next.
Frequently asked questions about the Right Angle Cross of Rulership
Is the destiny of this cross to bring together an entire neighborhood?
No. The destiny the Right Angle speaks of is described as personal. It sets neither a group nor a role: what the person brings together depends on the occasions when their voice is awaited.
What does this cross lose without Gate 21?
A direct hold on the group’s resources. With the 21, the will of the Heart connects to the voice and wants to manage what is pooled itself; without it, the 45 rallies people and leaves the management of what they share to others.
Can you put out a call on a day when you do not feel like seeing anyone?
The call can go out; the hospitality will follow the wave of the 22 when the day comes. Better not to promise the warmth of an evening you set on a low day for a distant date.
Does rallying a group require being its leader?
Not being its leader. The 45 brings people together through a clear statement, a date, a place, a common practice the group adopts without a vote; this role lasts as long as a proposal and gives no claim over what comes next.
