Two motors connected at birth

Three pallet bins
The compost in the community gardens has been overflowing since the fall. In the spring, Valérie promises the other gardeners she will build three bins out of pallets; she spends her two Saturdays in April on it, sawing, screwing, and only puts her tools away once the last lid is on.
In May, she notices that the oldest of the gardeners has stopped coming. Nobody has mentioned it. She stops by his place with some spare tomato seedlings; he is back watering his plot the following week.
Noticing who is drifting away
A commitment made for a group, once it has matured, is carried through to the end: the Channel of Community, complete from birth, gives the 40 a willpower turned toward the bonds of the 37.
The 37 also notices what is shifting in a group: an absence, a silence that drags on. It goes toward the one drifting away before the bond comes undone.
The 9, on the Design side, keeps at the work once it has begun; the 16 lets those who are watching see it: help given can thus leave some know-how behind.
A disagreement that stays in the hedge
The discomfort with conflict that belongs to the 37 holds disagreements back. Valérie has never told the association’s president that the new watering schedule bothered her; a year later, she avoids meetings and people think she is sulking.
Promises follow the wave. Help offered on an evening of enthusiasm will be given, since the Heart keeps its word, but at the low point it may be given without desire, and the resentment then targets those who received it.
An unannounced withdrawal worries people. Two days without news after a big job easily passes for a falling-out with those who do not know the reason.
Showing how while helping is not always welcome. The neighbor who was helped out wanted it done, not to learn; the 16 waits until someone has a use for what it knows.

During an accepted task, a little: messages and calls wait. Outside that task, the person is as available as anyone else, and their bonds follow the wave of the 37.
How can you tell a promise that will be kept with desire?
By the moment it was made. Made after several moods, it has the backing of the Heart and of desire; made in enthusiasm on a party night, it will be kept, but perhaps reluctantly.
Does the 9, on the Design side, help keep a promise?
It helps the person stick with the work, not keep the promise. The 9 fixes attention on a task the gut has responded to; the promise belongs to the willpower of the 40. Help promised without a response from the Sacral can be given, but without that undivided attention.
