A yes that comes from the gut commits for a long time, well before the reasons arrive. The desire that goes with it takes weeks to become readable. What the person makes of their commitments ends up, over the years, being of use to others.

Responding and desiring, two centers

Here the birth positions bring together two gates that do not speak from the same center: Gate 29, Saying Yes, responds from the Sacral, Gate 30, Recognition of Feelings, desires from the Solar Plexus. They do not move at the same pace. The gut can accept a proposal before the desire for it is readable; a desire can last for months without meeting a proposal; when the Solar Plexus is defined, it is the one that has the last word.

Hulls on Wednesdays

At the canoe club, cracked hulls pile up at the back of the boathouse until Wednesday evening. Nolwenn has been repairing them for six years; she had never touched resin before she came. Today she can tell by the smell whether a mix will set.

This fall, she is asked to supervise a ten-day course in July as well. She says nothing at the time. Three days later, sanding a bow, she hears herself say yes to the club president as he walks by; she will see the course through to the last day.

Commitments that leave a craft behind

A commitment made on the basis of a real response ends up leaving a craft behind it. The 29, at the Personality Sun, gives that kind of yes, which holds without needing to be renewed; the 30, at the Earth, saves the broadest commitments for desires that have come through several moods.

What the yes has set in motion, the Design gates transform. Gate 14, Power Skills, turns the hours given into know-how; Gate 8, Contribution, shows it to those who could use it.

The meaning of this Right Angle comes down to two words: personal destiny.

A yes that outlives its response

Several desires of the 30 can run side by side. Each finds its yes; commitments pile up before mood has sorted them.

An old yes can also outlive the response that gave rise to it. The strength of the Sacral withdraws, the habit remains and the task is carried on willpower for years.

For you, for others

For you

Let your gut answer first; the reasons will come afterward to organize what you have accepted. A commitment that no longer does anything for you deserves to be handed back rather than kept out of habit.

For others

Ask a friend whose chart shows this cross questions that can be answered in a word, and give her a few days if the answer does not come right away.

Frequently asked questions about the Right Angle Cross of Contagion

What sets this version of the Cross of Contagion apart from the other three?

The gate that leads. Here, the yes of the 29 goes first; know-how comes afterward, on the Design side. In the other versions, contribution, craft or desire takes the lead.

Is a yes from the 29 enough to launch a project?

It gives the project its strength, not necessarily its form. The desire of the 30 says whether the experience in view is the right one, and the 14 turns effort into know-how over time.

What would Gate 46 add to this yes?

Together with the 29 it would form a channel, the Channel of Discovery. Gate 46, Determination of the Self, sits in the G Center; joined, the two gates would commit the body to an experience about which almost nothing is known, and the experience itself would be the teacher.

Does a desire that finds no proposal end up fading away?

It can wait. The desire of the 30 commits to nothing on its own; it comes back from mood to mood until it meets an opportunity the gut responds to, or fades if it was not going to last.
