For whoever has this cross, existence is taken as it comes, accidents included; the body settles into its work for the long haul. In the Design, a pressure from the Root holds itself in reserve before turning into a zest for life.

The Sacral, outside the cross

In this Juxtaposition, described as a fixed fate, the four gates are distributed between the G Center and the Root without forming a channel.

The 46 and the 52 both have their harmonic gate in the Sacral: Gate 29, Saying Yes, and Gate 9, Focus. With the 29 in the chart, the 46 would enter the Channel of Discovery, which commits the whole body to an experience the gut has said yes to; with the 9, the 52 would enter the Channel of Concentration, which provides what it takes to stay on a single task to the end.

The signs on the upper street

In a workshop at the back of a courtyard, the glass for neon signs is still blown. Émeric has worked there for seventeen years; he heats the tubes, bends them by hand and recognizes each gas by the color it gives off.

Last winter, a storm tore down the sign he had installed on the café on the square, his oldest one. He went to pick up the pieces from the sidewalk, cursed the wind, then kept a shard of red tube on his workbench; he speaks of it as one memory among others.

On Sundays, he opens the workshop to anyone who wants to look, lights up all the signs under repair and serves coffee. The neighbors come by for the light and linger until evening.

A life loved around the workshop

The 52 holds the pressure in reserve until the work that deserves it; the 58 turns it toward the pleasure of existing, and this pleasure is shared without anyone having to defend it.

Storm included, the 25 finds interest in what happens, without denying the annoyance its share; the Earth in the 46 keeps the body in the trade long enough for this work to yield what it holds.

These gifts go first to people close to the person, through the 4/1 profile: line 1 needs a solid foundation before passing on a skill, line 4 spreads it among people known for a long time.

Sundays out of habit

What the 58 started for pleasure, the 46 can keep up out of habit. The open Sundays go on when the desire has gone, because the body has gotten used to them and the 25 still finds something likable in every visit.

The 46 enters the trade through the body; the trade leaves its marks on it: burns, a back that aches. The 25 turns these into parts of life; nothing, however, obliges you to neglect what the body is signaling.

Finally, the 52 can hold its pressure so as not to answer. A letter about bringing the workshop up to code stays unopened on the workbench, and the waiting, once a way of gathering what the work required, becomes a way to put off an answer known in advance.

For you, for others

For you

Your way of loving what happens makes you sturdy in the face of accidents; it does not exempt you from deciding. When an answer drags on, ask yourself whether you are ripening a task or avoiding saying what you already know.

For others

Come to the Sundays that someone with this cross organizes: your presence matters more there than your opinion. Their long stretches of stillness call for neither advice nor nudging.

Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Innocence

Is loving life with the 25 a form of naivety?

It does not mean denying the damage. The 25 loves life with its shocks; annoyance and anger remain whole: they belong to other centers.

What form does the zest for life of the 58 take?

No fixed form: it is a direction given to the pressure of the Root, which pushes you to go out, to try, to share. A workshop open on Sundays is one form of it; a hike or an impromptu meal would be others.

Does a hard blow make the 46 let go?

No: it stays in what was begun. The body was committed to the trade before the loss, and the 46 holds to this path while the 25 keeps its taste for what happens.

Does the body have a special place in this cross?

The one the 46 gives it. The gate enters an experience through the body and keeps it there. The G Center, where it sits, also links it to love of the body.
