Old scenes resurface in no order and feed, years later, ideas the person defends in front of others. At the starting point is Gate 64, Confusion, with its images waiting for their meaning.

Two gates that do not answer each other

A single channel, the Channel of Money, links the Throat, where the 45 sits, to the Heart, where the 26 sits. The 45 is its Throat half; the other half, the 21, the Hunter/Huntress, is absent from the cross.

The Channel of Surrender, the only channel of the 26, leads to the Spleen Center, home of its harmonic gate, Gate 44, Alertness.

A chart that brought together the 21 and the 44 in addition to the four gates would have these two channels, and would be a Manifestor chart with Splenic Authority: the Spleen Center, defined by the 26-44, then takes precedence over the Heart in decisions.

A meadow instead of a lawn

For a small town’s park, the landscaper proposes a meadow mowed twice a year instead of a lawn. The committee finds the idea sloppy. Cédric withdraws nothing and does not apologize: he knows what this meadow is worth, and he says so. He is given a trial plot.

The idea goes back a long way. For fifteen years, a failed garden from his early days has been coming back to him in pieces, a scorched lawn, a disappointed client, a hedge torn out, without his ever being able to say what went wrong.

Everyone has told him about the drought that summer. He never accepted that explanation, too convenient to have been examined, and the failed garden is still waiting for its meaning.

An idea with a past

The 64 provides material no one else has: lived scenes waiting for their meaning, kept without being classified.

The 63, at the Earth, protects them from convenient stories. Whatever the person ends up saying about them will have stood up to questions, starting with their own.

In front of people who have doubts, the 26 gives the self-assurance to defend an idea, without apologizing for what it proposes.

With the 45, this idea becomes a rallying point. Once it has been defended, others come together around it: a team, a committee, a neighborhood.

The lesson drawn too soon

The 45 can gather an audience before the 64 has yielded its meaning. Cédric then presents the meadow as the lesson of the failed garden, when he knows nothing of the sort yet, and the committee’s first question undoes the argument.

The 26 can also promise more than the willpower can supply. A defined Heart keeps its commitments from one day to the next, but it wears itself out when the image given in a meeting demands too much of it.

For you, for others

For you

Leave your memories unexplained as long as they have no explanation. Defend your ideas once they have stood up to your own questions. The rest can wait.

For others

With a friend who has this cross, discuss the substance of the idea they are defending, not their self-assurance: it comes from a long examination.

Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Dominion

Do you need to have understood your past to defend an idea?

No. The idea can stand on its own; what makes it vulnerable is presenting it as the lesson of a past that is still unclear. The 64 and the 26 each move at their own pace.

Why are the two Crosses of Dominion not alike?

Each starts from its own gate at the Personality Sun. In this one, the 64 makes the cross start from memories waiting for their meaning; the Gate 63 version starts from doubt, which sorts before speaking. The Left Angle is common to both, with its transpersonal karma.

Does doubt slow memory down?

It protects memory more than it holds it back, as long as it comes after it. The 63 examines explanations; it has no need to press the images of the 64 to find one.

Is an idea defended with self-assurance a form of pride?

Not when it has been examined. The 26 knows what a proposal is worth and says so; pride would begin if it kept defending the idea after a question had caught it out.
