A channel between Personality and Design
The Channel of Openness is born of Gate 22, Openness, at the Personality Earth, joined to Gate 12, Caution, at the Design Sun. The Design is calculated at the moment when the Sun still had 88 degrees to travel before its position at birth, about three months earlier: this channel therefore links two moments. It appears in every chart with this cross.
It defines the Solar Plexus and the Throat, so that the person’s voice always carries the color of their wave.
In the Ajna, Gate 47, Realization, sits next to Gate 11, Ideas, with no channel between them. Understanding and images combine there only when the voice tells them together.
Molding line number 3
In a foundry in the Ardennes, molding line number 3 breaks down more often than the others.
Barnabé, a maintenance electrician, has known why since the winter: while dismantling an old press, he saw cables hardened and cracked where the cold got in, and twenty-six years of breakdowns lined up with the calendar of freezing weeks.
He tells no one all spring. In June, in front of the line stopped yet again, a young engineer asks him how long it has been doing this; he recounts his years of breakdowns in one go.
The following year’s maintenance plan takes up his account almost word for word. Alone in front of a suggestion form, he would have written nothing.
A story waiting for its question
Years that stayed opaque become a story that serves others. The 47 at the Personality Sun does this work without borrowing anyone’s meaning; the 22, at the Earth, decides the warmth with which it will be told.
The 12 on the Design side keeps this story until someone asks about it; the 11 surrounds it with images, leads for what comes next that no one is obliged to follow.
A goal that cannot be reached without others: that is how the Left Angle of this cross is described.
An image taken for a finding
The images of the 11 can slip into the story as findings. A hypothesis tossed out in passing, a bearing that might be worn, ends up written into the maintenance plan, and a sound part gets replaced.
The channel links the wave to speech. On an evening of indignation, a letter goes off to management denouncing the state of the line; the next day, its author would like to take it back. Warning the shop supervisor before sending it would have avoided the falling-out.

Not without a channel. A center is defined by a complete channel, which the 47 and the 11 do not form together; the 47 would need its harmonic gate, Gate 64, Confusion, the 11 would need Gate 56, Stimulation, or another channel ending in the Ajna would be required.
