The people close to the person see the action before they have heard the answer: what the person accepts is already underway. Commitments that would weigh for years, however, wait for a desire that has lasted.
A channel on the Design side, a fixed fate
On the Design side, the Channel of Charisma forms between Gate 20, the Now, and Gate 34, Power: what the Sacral accepts passes without delay into words or action. The meaning of the Juxtaposition comes down to fixed fate.
The two-lane traffic circle
On a two-lane traffic circle, a student stalls in the middle of traffic and lets go of the wheel. Before he has looked up, Olympe’s voice is there, calm, one instruction at a time: parking brake, neutral, ignition.
He gets going again on the third try. During the break, he asks his instructor how she knew what to say; she has no idea, the words came with the situation.
The day the driving school was looking for someone for Saturday morning lessons, Olympe said nothing in the meeting. The following Saturday, she was waiting for her first student at eight o’clock; she is still there three years later.
A response already in motion
This cross’s help arrives at the moment it is useful, not the next day: a student reassured in the middle of the traffic circle, a colleague helped out before the end of the meeting.
Once given, the yes of Gate 29, Saying Yes, holds without needing to be renewed: it carries the work through to its end. Gate 30, Recognition of Feelings, holds back anything that would mean years of commitment, long enough to know whether the desire holds.
It is the 20 that sets the moment of this yes: the words and actions come out while the situation is unfolding.
The 34 supplies what it takes to last, a strength that comes back every morning for what it has responded to.
Answers without a question
Answering every request with an action: the channel pushes you to, even with requests the gut has not responded to. For a long time Olympe accepted every lesson that was squeezed in between two others; by the end of the week, she no longer knew whom she was driving for.
Through an open Solar Plexus, other people’s desires enter the 30, along with their intensity. A project born of the joy of students who passed their driving test may be nothing more than that joy, come back stronger.
Words go out as fast as actions. A sentence thrown out on the spot to a hesitant student can sting him for a week, and no action can take it back.
The pace ends up lulling the desire of the 30 to sleep. By constantly answering the day’s requests, the person no longer gives any desire the time to come back.
For you, for others
For you
Your yes amounts to a commitment: keep it for what makes your gut respond. As for desires that would tie you down for years, let them pass through several seasons before you talk about them.
For others
With a friend who has this cross, make sure you want what you are asking her for, because it may be done before the conversation is over. Her silence is not a yes.
Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Commitment
Who decides what the 20 says, the 20 or the 29?
The 29. The 20 gives the moment, not the content: what it brings out comes from the Sacral to which the 34 connects it, and the yes of the 29 decides what this strength is given to.
Does a no from the gut weigh as much as a yes?
Just as much. The 29 works in both directions; its refusal keeps the strength of the Sacral for what deserves it.
Is this cross lived only at work?
No. The yeses of the 29 apply to a trip as much as to a job, and the channel brings out action in a kitchen just as well as on a building site.
Does this person tell the people around them before acting?
Not always: the action comes so quickly after the response that the step of informing gets skipped. One sentence said before acting is enough to avoid the surprise.
