The spot that snags jumps out long before its reason. The supported opinion comes next, sometimes carried by a frankness that provokes a reaction, and defended as long as the correction has not been made.

Two centers that judge, one center that pushes

Gate 18, Correction, and the cross share the same name. Among these four gates, there is no channel. The Personality side sits in two centers that each judge in their own way, the Spleen Center in the moment, the Ajna in steps; the Design side, in the Root, supplies the pressure.

A fixed fate, a bridge between the Right Angle and the Left Angle: that is how the Juxtaposition is described. The four gates keep doing what they do in any other chart.

The community garage’s annual report

At the community garage’s general meeting, the president puts the annual report up on the screen. Jocelyne, who keeps the books as a volunteer, interrupts him on the third page: “The tires are counted twice.” The room laughs; the president asks how she knows.

She does not know yet; she saw the line before adding up anything. The following Tuesday, she comes back with the purchase invoices and the resale invoices laid side by side: the same set of tires appears on both sides, and the whole table can see it.

An eye that goes the distance

A correction that goes from the eye to the repair: that is what the cross brings together. The 18 spots what could work better in a report, a procedure, a set of rules; the 17, at the Earth, draws from it a line of reasoning others can retrace.

The Design Root gives the remark its two supports. The 39 lends it enough bite to wake up a sleepy meeting, the 38 enough constancy to keep coming back until the correction is made.

Revisiting a closed estimate

The 38 can keep open a correction no one is asking for anymore. The person’s friends have stopped showing her their renovation estimates: each time, she kept going back over them until a line was changed.

When no channel defines the Root, the surrounding agitation passes into the body and can rush the remark. Said just to end the tension in the room, it arrives before anyone has asked anything; the person receiving it only remembers the poor timing.

For you, for others

For you

Trust the line your eye pointed to first, and let the explanation come. To say it, wait for a meeting where the subject is on the agenda.

For others

If this cross belongs to a friend, ask her where the problem is, not why: she locates the spot at a glance, the reason takes longer. When she comes back to a line, check it before finding her insistent.

Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Correction

Does a flaw have to be explained before it is pointed out?

Nothing requires it. The Spleen Center shows where, not why; waiting for the reason before speaking means letting the moment slip by. The reason can follow: the 17 knows how to build it.

Why does Gate 39 go along with the 18 here?

It gives the correction an outlet. The 39 pushes to say what the group avoids; aimed at a flaw the 18 has seen, the question touches the sore spot.

Can the 17 delay a remark from the 39?

It can offer it a delay. A remark backed by verified steps goes out less quickly than a remark thrown out to relieve the Root; you still have to take the time to build those steps.

What should you do when the remark goes out before anyone asks for it?

Take it up again on the substance if it was right, apologize for the form if it hurt. The Strategy of the Type then indicates the moment for the next one: an awaited request, an invitation received, or a word of warning.
