The same coffee at the same time, the same commute, the same gestures before getting started: routine carries the day. The day it breaks, everything else takes effort.

A routine plugged into the Sacral

Gate 5, Fixed Patterns, belongs to the Sacral, the body’s work force. Gate 15, Extremes, belongs to the G Center, where the system places a love of humanity in all its variety, from the slowest rhythms to the liveliest.

A defined Sacral leaves only two possible Types: Generator, Manifesting Generator. The 5-15 doesn’t reach the Throat; on its own, it gives a Generator. To change Type, all it takes is another channel running from the G Center to the Throat: the 1-8, the 7-31, the 10-20 or the 13-33.

Authority stays Sacral as long as nothing defines the Solar Plexus. The 30-41 or the 37-40, by defining it, make it Emotional.

In terms of circuitry, the 5-15 is Collective, Logic sub-circuit, just like the 4-63 and the 7-31.

The order of the days

A baker has been opening at six for twelve years. The morning the flour delivery doesn’t come, she wanders around the bakehouse not knowing where to start, even though the work to be done is the same. She ends up going back to the gesture that opens all her days, lighting the oven. Everything else falls back into place from there.

The channel’s rhythm can’t be decreed like a resolution. It is recognized after the fact: the weeks when everything unfolds in the same order are the ones when the body has energy to spare.

Gate 15 brings the other side. It leaves others their own pace, slower or livelier. A father with this channel can keep his fixed hours and let his sixteen-year-old son live at night, without seeing anything wrong in it.

Moving forward by accumulation

When the Sacral has responded to an activity, the rhythm sustains it. The person doesn’t need to motivate themselves every morning: the gesture comes around at its usual time, and the work moves forward by accumulation.

For those around them, this rhythm serves as a reference point. A team falls in step with their arrival, a family with their mealtimes, without any rule ever being set. A colleague worried about a project knows he’ll find them at their desk at the usual time, which is sometimes enough to reassure him.

Keeping a rhythm that isn’t yours

A rhythm imposed from outside doesn’t hold up the same way. Shift hours, a noisy office, repeated travel: the person copes, but by drawing on their reserves. The opposite also happens. A habit taken up without a response from the Sacral, kept up out of discipline, runs on empty and feeds the Generator’s frustration.

Loved ones pose the last problem. The person expects them to follow their pace and takes their lateness for carelessness. A spouse who eats dinner at varying times wrongly becomes someone who makes no effort.

For you, for others

For you

Notice which habits leave you with energy at the end of the day and which ones rely on willpower alone. Keep the first kind, even when people around you find them rigid.

For others

Give them warning before upsetting their schedule; then let them get back to their order. Their habits aren’t aimed at anyone: they give them what they need to work.

Frequently asked questions about the Channel of Rhythm

Isn’t such a fixed routine just rigidity?

Rigidity comes from a rhythm kept without a response from the Sacral, out of habit or fear of losing their footing. A rhythm the gut supports holds without effort, and the person doesn’t have to defend it.

How does a Generator with this channel become a Manifesting Generator?

The G Center, defined by this channel, can connect to the Throat through another channel. The Sacral’s power then takes that route, and the result is a Manifesting Generator. The 20-34, which connects the Sacral directly to the Throat, has the same effect.

The 5-15 and the 2-14 both connect the G Center to the Sacral. What’s the difference?

The 10-34 and the 29-46 also run between those two centers. The 5-15 is classified as Collective, Logic sub-circuit; the 2-14, Individual. Their gates don’t speak about the same things: rhythm and extremes on one side, direction and skills on the other.

Is changing habits a bad idea?

A change that responds to a request, and that the Sacral says yes to, finds its new pace. One you impose on yourself on a whim has less grip.
