The zest for life pushes the person to fill the day, and a restraint born of the same center knows how to wait. A skill that judges in the moment and a will to run one’s own domain give this energy a workshop to work in.
The wheel and the Root
On the wheel, Sun and Earth face each other from one edge to the other; in this cross, though, both ends of the Personality axis fall in the Root, the 58 toward life, the 52 toward reserve.
The 48 has its harmonic gate in the Throat (Gate 16, Skills), and the 58 has its own in the Spleen Center (Gate 18, Correction).
If the chart’s only channels are the Channel of the Wavelength, which joins the 16 to the 48, and the Channel of Judgment, the Type is Manifestor and the authority splenic. If another channel also defines the Sacral, the Type is Manifesting Generator.
The cabinetmaking workshop
Gabin is a cabinetmaker. A customer brings in a family chest of drawers and asks for it to be fully restored, top, veneer and hardware.
He opens the drawers, runs his hand under the frame and suggests redoing only the runners; the rest would keep its patina. The customer leaves convinced, with an estimate three times lower.
At the start of their partnership, Gabin and his colleague wrote on a sheet pinned to the wall who handles what: the wood purchasing and the schedule for him, the clients and the estimates for her. In six years, the sheet has not moved.
On Friday evenings, once the workshop is closed, he heads off to the folk dance in the next village and dances until midnight.
What is enough
An energy that does not scatter: the 58 pushes the person to live the day fully, the 52 saves it for work that is worth the effort.
The work that comes out of this is measured. The 48 knows, while it works, what is enough; it spares needless redoing.
The 21 holds the domain it has taken charge of.
A client knows whom to talk to; the announced deadline is met.
A hand on everything
Keeping control of your own purchasing falls to the 21; extending it to the whole workshop goes beyond its share. Gabin ended up checking his colleague’s estimates, and she talked about leaving.
The push of the Root can also get ahead of the Type’s Strategy. One more order, accepted because the urge to do things was rising, gets delivered at the cost of joyless nights.
The schedule pays the price: two deadlines met by a hair, a third one missed.
Gabin took the sheet down from the wall and added a line to it, the number of orders he accepts per month.
For you, for others
For you
Set with your partners the limit of what you handle without them, then let go of the rest without coming back to it.
For others
A craftsman who has the Cross of Demands keeps their own deadlines: do not set them in their place. Offer them projects they can accept or refuse. Do not present them as foregone conclusions.
Frequently asked questions about the Left Angle Cross of Demands
Does holding your domain alone go against the Left Angle?
No. The Left Angle is understood as transpersonal karma, and it brings together people who need others to accomplish what they aim for. The 21 aims at a perimeter, its own; a shared workshop leaves room for both.
Why does an announced deadline hold?
The 21 treats what it has taken on as its own business, with the willpower of the Heart. When the Heart is open, this force does not come continuously: promising less then becomes the way to keep one’s word.
Why does a workshop in a hurry turn into a race?
Because of a Root without definition, when that is the case in the chart: the haste of those around enters it and comes out stronger. The two Personality gates keep their direction, life for the 58, reserve for the 52.
Can the judgment of the 48 be thought through?
It comes from the Spleen Center, which decides during the gesture without giving reasons. Thinking it over afterward can explain it in part, not replace it.
