Action does not wait; desire does. A machine running out of control finds the person already on their feet; a proposal that would commit years waits until the desire has passed through several moods, even if it ends in a refusal.
The Solar Plexus sets the pace
With its own gates alone, the cross connects the Sacral to the Throat. There, on the Design side, Gate 34, Power, joins Gate 20, the Now, in the Channel of Charisma, where the strength of the Sacral finds a direct path to action.
The Solar Plexus, the center of the 30, changes the pace of the cross when a channel defines it, whether the one the 30 would form with its harmonic gate, Gate 41, Contraction, or another. The wave then has to pass before deciding, while the channel pushes to act.
Neither the 30 nor the 29 is part of this channel. Desire only reaches action through the yes, which commits the strength of the 34.
A centrifuge, a promotion
One Friday evening, in a medical testing lab, a centrifuge goes off balance and starts banging. While her colleagues look up, Mélisande has already cut the power and opened the lid.
The same month, her boss offers her the chance to head the future genetics unit. The idea flatters her one evening and bores her the next day. She asks for three weeks; people press her, surprised that someone so quick should hesitate so much. At the end of the three weeks, she says no. The refusal holds.
Two paces in one cross
Two paces live side by side without getting in each other’s way. Gate 30, Recognition of Feelings, at the Personality Sun, lets a desire pass through the moods until it recognizes itself, or fades; Gate 29, Saying Yes, at the Earth, then gives a yes or a no that holds.
The Design channel gives this yes immediate strength, valuable in moments when you have to act before there is time to think: a machine running out of control, an emergency, a room to clear.
Carried through on the basis of a real response, this work leaves satisfaction behind; the strength comes back the next day for the next task.
Slowness mistaken for hesitation
The people close to the person only see the speed. Used to seeing them act within minutes, they mistake the time they give a desire for hesitation, and press them to decide.
A desire that has held can also wait a long time for its proposal. The temptation is then to force the opportunity, which the channel provides the means to do: the action goes off without a response, and then has to be kept up through willpower.
The 34 lends its strength to whatever it is handed, even without having responded. Fill-ins, helping hands and emergency fixes pile up without any of them having been accepted by the gut.
For you, for others
For you
Keep your desires warm without rushing them. When one of them meets a real opportunity, respond with your body. Then announce your decision to those it concerns before putting it into action.
For others
When your spouse has this cross and takes weeks to answer a proposal that involves a commitment, give them that time: their everyday speed says nothing about the rhythm of their desires.
Frequently asked questions about the Juxtaposition Cross of Fates
Why so much speed for small things, and so much slowness for big ones?
Because two mechanisms handle them. Through the Channel of Charisma, the Sacral’s response passes into action almost at once. Desire, on the other hand, passes through its moods before recognizing itself; the decision waits for the end of the wave when the Solar Plexus is defined.
Does the 29 keep its commitments at any cost?
It keeps them as long as they were born of a response, and so backed by the strength of the Sacral. A yes that was wrung out weighs more the longer it lasts.
Are the Cross of Fates and the Cross of Industry alike?
They share their gates; the angle sets them apart. Industry, a Left Angle cross, means transpersonal karma; Fates, a Juxtaposition, fixed fate.
Can you decide quickly and well with this cross?
Yes, when the speed comes after the desire and the response. A quick decision made without a desire that has been felt over time, or without a yes from the gut, risks being regretted.
