A smell of floor wax, and there is a classroom from thirty years ago, then a street, a face, a summer. These images arrive in a jumble; their meaning can’t be summoned on demand.
A Head that stirs up the past
The Channel of Abstraction, 47-64, connects the Head to the Ajna and defines both as soon as its two gates appear in the chart.
Gate 64, Confusion, is its upper half. According to the system, it stirs up lived scenes whose meaning is not there yet. The Head supplies it with the pressure of a question that won’t let go, with no energy at all for action. Gate 47, Realization, awaits it in the Ajna: that is where these images eventually take shape.
Memories out of order
Since the family house was sold, Ludivine has seen rooms and voices come back to her with no thread between them. She doesn’t try to sort them.
One day, while going through photos with her sister, she suddenly understands why she has always wanted to go far away on vacation.
Samuel coaches a handball team that has just had a losing season. The matches come back to him out of order, a missed pass in November, a time-out in March; he doesn’t analyze them yet, he lets them go by.
One evening, while putting away the cones in the gym, he sees what those moments had in common: the team gave up every time after a change of goalkeeper.
Letting the meaning come
Gate 64 tolerates disorder. It keeps together memories that don’t connect yet, without demanding that they do.
The past becomes raw material there. What has been lived isn’t filed away until it has said what it had to say. A breakup, a bereavement, a move can stay on hold for a long time, then suddenly reveal their meaning.
With Gate 47, this material leads to an understanding, sometimes long after the events.
The gate also leaves room for the unexpected. A smell or a song can awaken a scene that sheds light on another.
Forcing the meaning
Samuel could, as soon as the season ends, give his players an explanation for the defeat. The Head presses for a conclusion; a reading given too early freezes the memories into a story that doesn’t fit them, and the team learns the wrong lesson.
Memories waiting to be untangled can also delay a decision. For a Generator with Gate 64, the wish to understand his past before responding to an offer makes him wait; his gut’s response, however, didn’t wait, and the opportunity slips away while he sorts.

It describes a passing state. The system gives this name to the gate of images that have not yet found their meaning; the word doesn’t judge the person.

Scenes already lived, whose significance isn’t clear yet. A detail of no apparent importance can be one of them. They belong to each person’s own story; no list sets them in advance.
Does the meaning always come in the end?
Nothing guarantees it or sets a date for it. When Gate 47 also appears in the chart, the channel gives these images a place to take shape, in the Ajna; without it, they can remain unresolved for a long time.
What should you do with the memories in the meantime?
